yeah I know what you're thinking, "Thoad's here to rant about school and how much the assignments suck and all the emoness blah blah blabbity blah" but hell no, I'm here bringing a serious problem about my certain school that utterly and EPICALLY rags me off.
First of all, it made me get a Minor Concussion. It still hurts like a modda !@#$. Admittedly, I kinda brought it on myself because I used a racial slur (to get my point across, cuz I knew this guy wasn't going to stop burning the back of my neck otherwise).
Anyways, here's the story: I had gotten done with the testing for the day and school ends as soon as lunch, so I went out to the side of the library (because the library is always closed during testing) and I sat down, criss crossed my legs on a 3 foot or so wall and started to read a "Maximum Ride" series called "The Final Warning". I had read peacefully (alone) for about 20 minutes, a few people coming and going. Then, I feel a BURNING sensation on the back of my neck. I slapped it, thinking it might have been a mosquito. Later, it kept on coming back and I heard this black kid behind me saying: "Hey I'm trying to get this nigga to move" when I myself had been there first. This time when I slapped the burn, it burnt my hand and I got pissed, I looked back and told him in the racial slur that black people oh so often use to get out. He jumped me. Hard. He knocked me over, plummeting me on my left side to the ground, and then drop kicks me in the back of the SKULL. I'm bleeding a little and went to the ER, and they said they could only tell me to sleep it off, and I will be later. This guy wouldn't f**king relent when he started. First of all, I didn't lay a dang (for lack of my most used sayings) hand on this guy, and he goes apeshit on me while I'M DOWN ON THE GROUND. What guy kicks another when they're down on the ground? One sorry sonofawhore that's who. (sorry for the terrible french, mods) So this goes on for a good 30 seconds before two guys pulled him off me, and the guy was mad. Why the hell does 1 word make a guy so mad? 1 Freakin' word, when he was burning the back of my neck. Does that make sense to you? Specially when I did nothing to provoke him, and was just reading. Reading. We're pressing charges against him for assault, and here's where the ranting about the SCHOOL comes in: We have a cop on the premises, and it took him more than 4 minutes to reach the scene, when it's a 30 second run from one end to the other. Later, he tried gathering the information. I was in the nurse, and she let me go home on the bus. That may not seem bad to you, but did you know that if you take enough blows to the head you can be prone to seizures? That's what my mother (who is a Registered Nurse) had said, as well as the ER doctor. Then, the same cop, he started to take sides with the guy that I racially slurred, and I would guess he thought I got what I deserved. 1 word = mild concussion? Hell no.
So then, do you think that school in New Mexico should be like this? Do you think these parents did something wrong? I sure as hell think that something should be done, after all I have 3 large bumps on my head (one of which is bleeding a little) and his mom came back complaining ABOUT the slur, do you think something should be done?
Tell me of extremely bad conditions of your school and school violence, and maybe we can see if it get's to congress, for taxpayers money to go into a better learning plan and higher state standards. That might put the US's schools, and more importantly their CHILDREN back in line.
That doesn't make sense. Even if you are accountable for uttering a racial slur, that doesn't give anyone the right to send you to the hospital. You seem to have a bad time at school with idiots like that person.
Holy shit. This sounds more like aggravated assault, battery, etc. Assault isn't enough charges imo, and really I don't give a shit about words. He overreacted big-time. This sucks. What you said to him was bad, but what he did was worse. Well, just remember that if it comes to trial, you won't need a good lawyer, just the facts in this case. ---------- Hope you get better, sounds like he beat the crap out of you.
Shouldn't this be in world politics and religion section or whatever? School has a lot of cons in it's violence and standards, but having too strict of rules doesn't exactly help either. No fun. I think it's fine the way it is. If you could fix it, what would you do?
Thoad, you need to know even if it was just one word, it upsets people. You may not have deserved that concussion, and you definitely didn't deserve to be burnt on the back of your neck for no reason, but how hard would it have been to move 20 feet? I'm not taking his side, but think of how much easier that would have been than getting jumped? Also, one thing I have learned over the years, don't antagonize. The antagonizer is always the one that gets in trouble.

No. . .saying the n word doesn't make you a racist. Actual discrimination maeks you a racist. What thoad did was wrong (bad thoad!) but concussions are potentially life-threatening. I would've been on the other kid's side if he hadn't assaulted thoad, but this was blown out of proportion. Words. . .they can hurt. They can be wrong. Violence. . .always hurts. It is always wrong, and more wrong than words.

In a ghetto town, you can't let people do that, or they'll push and push and push till you can't do anything about it. Even if it would have been a lot less painful, it'd just make me get picked on and picked on until I couldn't let it go, and brought a socket wrench to school. I know this first hand, only it was a lock instead of a socket wrench.
Also, it does seem like you're taking sides, this was the FIRST time I've ever used a racial slur, and I'll use it again, but only if I need to and if I know I can protect myself. Trust me, I hate the word myself, and I hate how they use it so COMMONLY, but I let it slide. This pissed me off enough to where I was FED UP with getting picked on and getting messed with each and every day, and sooner or later this is going to bite them in the ass, and when it does I'm going to laugh.

No comment. My school is great. . .the only thing you have to worry about is 7th graders smoking pot in the school bathroom. Violence is. . .rare at my school. Very rare.

Racist is the belief that one race is better than the other, and a racial slur is just using ones race in order to further affect the person in the form of an insult. Using a racial slur is not meaning you're racist. I hate it when people say this, because it's a load a @#$%
In the future dude, if your gonna say somethin that'll make someone angry you should be ready to back it up. He might have jumped you before you could have reacted, but if you were angry enough to throw slurs you may have just threw a punch. In any event get well soon.
