Pure alcohol doesn't nescessarily kill you. It depends on what manner you drink it and how developed your liver is. Absinthe is an extremely strong spirit, I have seen it up to 90% alcoholic volume per bottle in some places. However if you drink it properly, as it was intended to be drunk ie one bottlecap's worth mixed into 1 pint of water and then sugar added, it will not kill you. If you drink it as a shot, which it is served as in many places then you are far more likely to feel the effects. If you are by any chance quite young ie 13/14 I would guess more than 2 shots would do serious damage.
But on a serious note, drinking aint cool. My uncle died of cirrhosis (the fancy name for liver failure). I also know a guy who drank too much vodka vomited in his sleep and choked to death. I am not anti drink, but I have just seen what it can do when taken to extremes.

Correct. Though generally to make everything short and easy to understand, we can all safely say that pure alcohol can damage you. If you drink alcohol other than ethanol, then that would be poisoning.

I agree. Drinking should be moderated to avoid damage to the body.

It seems I'm not being clear. Going out to get drunk-binge drinking is not nescessarily a bad thing. If you want to get drunk and have a good time with some mates then do so responsibly. It's part of growing up, at least where I come from.
The biggest problem nowadays is that kids don't know their limits. Back when my dad was young, people only ever drank in pubs-which closed at 11. Now kids 13 upwards are going to off licenses and mixing spirits. The fact alcohol is so cheap and easy to get now doesn't help at all.
(I am speaking purely from a British perspective).
I love beer, german beer as we have it in germany where i come from. Do you also have german beer in the country you're from? If not I'm very sorry cuz ull miss the best drink ever.
I visited Gerany quite recently, Munich and Berlin, and would have to agree that the beer there was excellent, and so was the general culture surrounding drinking. It made me realised how screwed up the situation is in Britain.
