As you all of you know who have been on Armor Games a lot know about spammers who know what they are doing. Those types of Spammers usually like to post inappropriate comments or comments that give them points. It's OK if you spam every once in a while because it's a natural human reflex and we all have it in us. However, every once in a while, there is always a hot-shot user that wants to annoy us with topics that are just plain annoying. The newest one I have seen on Armor Games was today and the user was called Billy Joel. There are hundreds of users like him I have seen but I don't remember their name.
Now, most of the users I see on Armor Games like to reply to his topic and I am sadden because they have felled, like many other users on Armor Games, to the Attention-Seeker Effect.
The Attention-Seeker Effect is when any type of spammer makes a topic that is seen in the public as inappropriate. Their are a few users I have seen on Armor Games that ignore the spammer by not sending any comments, posts, or anything to him for that matter. However, a lot of users usually type in his topic saying, "That is inappropriate. I am reporting you!" While this is a good thing to get rid of a bad user, it just gives him what he wants, attention.
I'm not saying that it is necessarily bad to reply to his topic but if you keep on replying that he is doing something bad over and over on his topic, that gives that user a reason to keep on doing this for his own entertainment. I recommend all Armor Game user to just give the user a silent treatment and act like he does not exist.
Let me just add, if you post in his topic or comment him etc it makes you a spammer too. A dumb thread that was meant to attract attention doesn't need three pages of people saying 'This is inappropriate' or 'This is spam', 'this is in the wrong section' and worst of all 'Dude tahts spam stop spammingz'.
I do agree, flagging posts does not seem to get you very far. If you want to get rid of a user like the kind you're referring to, you should post a link to his profile on a mod's messenger, but don't let the reported user catch you in the act!
most of the time i just try to ignore them..but sometimes, what you say oh ya, its a natural reflex so i can't help posting a comment on the thread..which i later regret..

yeah, many users just keep repeating what they said. That's funny.
Not posting in the thread actually serves a second purpose too. In short order the useless topic could be buried under a bunch of more relevant topics. Good plan.
Hmm... yes if you dont post in a stupid topic (Like someone made yesturday titled ; BRB, Spammer made it just saying "Im going to lunch BRB!" If we leave the stupid topics they will get buried in like page 64 and no one EVER looks at page 64!
Maybe all these new spammers are really just the same few people again and again. I won't ever forget Soupman, FungiSoup, Higherground. Same person I think. And if they don't spam, they flame and swear at everyone. Annoying, so let's not even post in their posts, just give the links to a mod to lock it up and stuff it under other posts...
