Ok, this has been on the news a lot and I was wondering what you guys thought. When President Obama went to great the leader of Saudia Arabia (I think it was) did he bow to him or just shake his hand. I defiately think he bowed to him. His head was down to his waist. I think that says something.

I think that bows are cooler than a handshake. It's also probably more formal in the middle east.

I really don't think it matters that much. Unless we go to war with them over this. Which would just be stupid.

...-_-
This is stupid. Obama was greeting the guy with a bow and a handshake, not showing that he thinks he is inferior to him. In many countries, most people would think a handshake is weird and passes germs etc. I can't see why reporters would go nuts about such a trivial action.

I haven't heard about this, but I think that if he bowed to him it would probably just be as a sign of respect. Also, like fourtytwo said, in many countries handshakes are not what people do.

I can't see why reporters would go nuts about such a trivial action.

They just want something to write about.

I agree. If they thought they could insult Obama or the leader of Saudi Arabia, they would jump at the chance.

I think it's what Obama said that's important and not the gesture he makes when he's greeted.

Well, I haven't heard much about this incident, but I've heard that when Obama went to England and the Queen put out her hand for him to kiss it, he fist bumped her. O_o What??

Obama shouldn't have bowed. America bows to no one (except GOD)

I don't think the president has any reason not to shake the foot of people he meets, I mean seriously. But the videos never lie. But seriously bows are much more formal than a handshake. But then again in other times a headbutt was an excellent greeting.

In Conclusion: Bow yes. Foot shake no.
