This is a topic for people young and old to tell stories of good parents bad parents and how they manage to annoy you so much so fast! this is not for bashing parents just a place to discuss what they do and why.
Guys, parents don't deserve respect unless they earn it. I don't give mine any, becuse, well......they don't deserve it. It is the same with alot of people.

I respect them for what they have done for me...but if that's waht you think...well perhaps Westerners are more liberal. I was brought up according to Confucian morals.
I am raised christian. And one of the ten commandments is to honor they mother and they father.
However, I find it hard to honor someone who just brought you into this world...not even on purpose. (yes frm what I hear I was an accident) they just use me to get house work done. they really don't care about me. So i don't care about them. I don't know how you can honor someone like that....
My parents are good. They have never said it directly but the way I have always been brought up is that if someone doesn't have a reason for doing something. They can get fucked. Question everything from somebody with authority and if they can't validate it it's not meant to be followed. My dad also gave me the get out of jail free card in the form of "If somebody's bullying you at school stand your ground, even if you have to hit them."
Skater_boy i can understand you feel that way. But if you had "other" parents who cared and liked you, i think you would have a different meaning about it.
And how would I have "other" Parents. iam genuanly confused by that. I'm not complaning, it's not like them hate me or anything, just don't exactly.....respect me for anything more then a child.
I don't really respect my parents. Well.......i used to. But in light of recent and past events, I no longer do, but that's not what this thread is about is it?
My parents are a bit older than most. . .they are respectable people, understanding and smart. . .but a bit unreasonable sometimes. Also, my dad freaks about minor things somewhat frequently, and my mom has a bit of a short fuse sometimes, but they're great people in all.
