What Pixie said, if you've ever seen, say, the rubber casing of a power line, you might notice that it happens to say "AC/DC" in print on it.

Alternating Current/Direct current. I heard somewhere that it's a backhand allusion to electricity and bisexuality or something.

LOL...I really REALLY lol'd on that one.

Anyways

according to this website

AC/DC stands for Alternating Current/Direct Current. It all has to do with electrical power distribution.

AC is when the current alternates, or constantly changes directions.
Dc is when the current is constantly staying in the same direction.

I'm still a bit confused on it, but apparently AC is better and more reliable than DC.

It's also far more dangerous. Ya, I can't remember the story but it had something to do alternating current/direct current on something.

Yes DC is more dangerous then AC. During "current war" Edison wanted to show that AC is more dangerous, because he supported the idea that DC should be used for electrification of the world, so he electrified an elephant with AC current. Poor animal suffered for a long time.
AC is mainly use now because it's easier to transport over long distances. Still, electronics runs on DC so it needs to be converted before use. With AC/DC converters.

It obviously means Alternating Current/Direct Current. It also means bisexuality. It is also a hard rock band from Australia, The Young brothers actually got the name AC/DC from the back of their sister's sewing machine
