As it is now, searching back 5 pages or so, as well as using google to find threads. It works fine, usually.
I think they might be planning to make an improved search engine, but you might need to wait for them to get the coding right. Many search functions in other forums are working rather bad.

An engine for the site? Nice idea but think of the massive lag. For example searching firetail might end up spawning several thousand finds.

well what if it just searched titles? that would definitely cut down on the number of results you get! or it searched title and first post maybe? either way, a agree that doing a full search would cause horrendous lag! but any little search would be an upgrade, no?

there was a search engine for the community, but it was unreliable, and people complained about how unreliable it was. So I think because of that they took it down. If you look at the search for games, you will notice a drop down menu with just games on it. This is because before you were able to select Community as an option to search. You can still use the community search as long as you use the URL Trick for it.Here let me show you real quick...

Armorgames.com/search/your search here/community

Where it ways "your search here" you need to replace that with what you want to search in the community. To use this search engine properly though, you need to understand how it works. From what I have seen, since threads don't have tags, it searches by basically all words in in the thread(possibly just the first post) but in order to find what you are looking for, you will need to search for words that you think will be in only that thread or that thread and very few others.

Now as a note I believe as Cenere has said, I believe they are trying to improve upon it eventually, but in the mean time there are alternatives.

Locking this up~

It's a feature almost everyone wants back, and I think they're trying to get it to work, but for now there's not really any point in talking about it any further.

Alternative solutions have been posted~
