yeah they saw it on a plug or w/e and they decided to use the name

Actually Angus Young (Lead Guitarist) and Malcolm Yong (Rhythm Guitarist) got the idea for the name AC/DC from their sister Margaret Young's sewing machine. They thought that AC/DC which represents the 2 electric currents symbolized the bands energy and power on stage.
