I just heard this from my friend, and I'm not sure if it's true or not. He said that the government has ruled that if you go to rallies and support anti-abortion groups, it's domestic terrorism. I find this slightly hard to believe, but I trust my friend, and his mom said this was true. Any input on this subject would be appreciated/
I would certainly hope not, especially since all the Gitmo prisoners are being let go and they are actual terrorists (and PLEASE nobody turn this into some stupid debate about whether or not we should've let them go). I can understand radical right wings that attack people, but supporting anti-abortion groups is freedom of speech.
This is interesting. I believe that many of the cases of Domestic Terrorism are bombings of abortion clinics and other planned parenting facilities by radical right-wing Christians.
Funny story, Sarah Palin was interviewed one time, and the reporter asked her something along the lines of "So, you're giving Mr. Obama a hard time about past associations with Bill Ayers, a former domestic terrorist. Ayers actually harmed no people except members of his group, when a bomb they were making went off accidentally. In the United States, more people are injured and killed when abortion clinics are burned or bombed than when Bill Ayers was part of a terrorist organization. Would you consider these people domestic terrorists?"
All she said was "No, I probably wouldn't use the term in that context."

First of all, the question was whether or not you thought supporting anti-abortion rallies in a nonviolent way shuold be illegal. Anyway, I am very against bombing or burning abortion clinics, but these people wouldn't be domestic terrorists, because terrorists are against the country. Bill Ayers hates this country. Clinic bombers hate abortion, NOT necessarily the country. That's what she meant.

no your protected under the the first amendment right to peaceably assemble
It would be domestic terrorism to bomb an abortion clinic, or kill an abortion doctor. Attending rallies is not terrorism. It is protected under freedom of speech.
no your protected under the the first amendment right to peaceably assemble
Only to assemble and march on the government. It is a technicality in the Constitution; for example, you could march on the White House but not a private sector business. Abortion clinics are not owned by the government, and assemblies against them typically aren't exactly 'eaceable' so it would be illegal. Heard it from a lawyer. :] -------------
