Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that since this game has such high popularity, and therefor a ridiculous amount of threads dedicated to it, other threads will be locked in relation to Gemcraft 0 and be redirected to this thread, which will be the main one.
So I will be stickying this thread so that it can be easily found! And if you find other threads about this same topic, please redirect them here. Thanks! =)
I don't have the leader board in my Wizard Journal. When I go to stats I can submit my score but nothing pops up and I can't see how I did. Any ideas? Thx
this is one of my faves... I get past the first area, but can't beat anything after that, I keep trying though
It gets a lot easier after you get past the first tier and say around level 24 and you can do more 3X experience modes. I end up doing some replays of levels. There are probably better ways but a lot of my experience on the lower levels was the amulets for not throwing gem bombs and not using traps.
BlakeLupa, that "no gem bombs thrown" amulet gives a pitiful 50 exp (IIRC, I have got that amulet only once), while "destroy everything on the battlefield" amulet gives 200 exp. I prefer getting the latter
And people, in order to have some level advantage I'd recommend you trying first tier levels at endurance mode (x3 ones preferrably) with rank 9 orange mastery and some red mastery for mega mana traps. They can just PWN everything, with insane firing speeds and tremendous mana leech, or you can use all that mana to create a supergem and pwn all waves, angered once by grade 6 gems, until you'll run out of having fun on the level.

And before the orange gems place a slow gem, a grade 4 slow gem would be great, it slows the monster for 50% or hihger values and the orange gems combined with the red gem leeches all the mana.
And when you get tired of playing, use a grade 4 or 5 gem in a score booster shrine.
To firetail: Sorry, I didn't realize this was going to become the main GemCraft Chapter 0 thread. Also, I now took time to read all 17 pages. Xp My eyes hurt...
Now for my opinion... I have to say that I do much better in plain old GemCraft. I can get very far in it, but not in Chapter 0.
And to those people saying that they think the wizard finds the eternity gem and becomes corrupt I agree with you. All in all it has a great story plot but I just gave up playing it because I couldn't get far.
random_player_of_ag Yep, the topmost slow I have seen that a trap gem could achieve is 92%, I think it could be more if I'd invest more in trap specials, this amount of slowing makes monsters crawl really slowly... I think that if I'd make such traps in each third square of a path, the monsters might be halted so much that no mana trapping might be needed to sustain oneself in endurance, they will spend so much time in the playfield that any normal set of towers will destroy them way before they will reach the wizard tower. But in order to get mana for mega-angering to use such a trap set to its fullest, you would need some orange
DarkLadyRaven You see, the GC0 is way harder while you are low in levels, but becomes progressively easier after wizard level 16, while you upgrade lower mana cost, mana per kill and masteries (orange first, I insist), after that you might need only normal and 3X game variants to reach the final without any problems. In order to get level 16, play some levels with orange and red using dual R/O traps and R/O towers to have a good mana supply through all the game, which is all you need to build your defences that are capable of holding the latter waves.
Slow traps are good for all mods, specially endurance . For swarms, poison traps. For carapace, purple traps.
I usually make three traps, two mana and one slow. I increase my mana pool, and let the creeps get killed.
I recently discovered a new tactic, you get a grade 4 gem, pure gem, then you create a bunch of one grade gems, the same color as the grade 4 gem, and combine them all. Transmute the gems if you wish not to spend large amounts of mana..
When your finished, you'll have a super gem with 200 firing speed and a huge range, at least mine always have that
For dual gems, use red and orange gems, combine them all and you'll have the same result, perhaps higher.

Heres some screenshots of me beating an already beaten arcane level guradian, where I have the time to excute this strategy:

I did not cheated, I just clicked the mana pool spell every once in a while, and executed the strategy.
So please don't make a fool out of yourselves and read what has been mentioned.
