Allright, I made this suggestion once before, but i am varrifying it, and throwing it back out there.
Now, last time, isuggested the Mini-mod! the helpfull household object that does dishes....wait, wrong product...
*shuffles papers*
Right, here we go.....They would only have powers to lock topics. Would cut down on spam, but mods said they would have to trust them with all the powers to give them one.
So lets say this. Tehy consider mods, but have to be 100% sure they are a good pick. With this handy little system, they can experiment first!
Ok, so lets see they think Your mom would make a good MOD. They make her a mini mod for a month or so.
They cna only lock topics, and get nifty read fonts, or are unkown by the public, in which case they should fail.
If they do good, they will be given full moderator powers.
If they are bad at it, and abuse said power, they will be removed, and loss this chance.
And forget the red fonts, they could be completely unknow, so if they should fail at it, the public wouldn't laugh at them.
It will most likely be shut down, but I'm throwing it out there.
Not much to say about this, really. Becoming something of a higher rank makes people crazy. Just look at how half the people in the top 100 act. Even if it is for a month it is enough to give people a taste of the sweet power. All I would want was "the power of deletetion" for the announcement thread. I have those, though. Also know as Zophia and Strop.

My mom doesn't even go on Armorgames.
And forget the red fonts, they could be completely unknow, so if they should fail at it, the public wouldn't laugh at them.
This idea is pretty good really. It allows Carlie and co to test just how good a person a mod would be. The problem is, they would be a good angel during the testing. Therefor I suggest this:
The admins email the tester mod and tell them they may be granted the full power of a mod. They get some functions, but not all of them(say those the public don't know about). If they abuse it, they fail. If they do nothing, they fail. If they boast, they fail. If they do qualify, they are suddenly granted the full power of a mod. Sound good? Just for extra measure.
We spin the wheel of moderation to pick our moderators.
So you chose some random dude who you know happens to have been active in the last week or so? That's cheap if you mean it.
Well, semi-high quality
You mean all the weirdos. Face it, not many people here are weird enough :P
So I have to be deluded, a physco and stupid to become a mod? Gee, now I know...
The worst mod candida- Oh crap.
Cenny is to bad to be a mod? I think that's rubbish. he would be an okay candidate for the moderatorhood.
Actually, I think the worst mod canidate ever in the history of AG would be Swit.
Who's Swit? I typed his name into the users and I got a blank page, but no error page. Was he deleted?
Topic! Stay on top of it.
Are you suggesting I sit on my computer? That's the only way I can think of it, unless you tell me where the Armorgames server is hidden, so I can sit there.
Switchfoot? That's all I can think of. ------- Interesting idea. . .but the admins would have to be just as picky about mini-mods as they are about full-fledged mods. . . .
Always nice to be friends with someone who has friends that know about that stuff. With... "Swit".
And... Even if this system worked, it would still increase the amount of mods to a level that is not needed. Having such a low count on moderators makes the system very tight and makes it easier to monitor. With more mods, there will be problems with keeping an eye on what to do with problems. And there will be a greater chance of disagreeing, which would cause conflicts that is hard to solve, because only Carlie seem to be and active admin, and the only one above the mods to break the conflicts...

But...... That's so unnecessary. >_> Just a way more complicated way of how it works now...

Nah, but most of the active mods are kind of a bunch of oddballs, each in their own way.
We are quite the...dare I say, motely crew. We stick to our guns, shout at the devil and cast looks that kill. WE each have a wild side, and no one is going to save our souls. Some of us are 10,000 miles away, but that is a bitter pill and same ol' situation we all deal with. Some call us monsterous, some call us girls, girls, girls.
In the end, we are misunderstood. ---------- Man, I rock so hard I hurt. Anyone get the above post? Didja didja didja?
