Slipknot, System of a Down, Linkin Park. There's a few for starters.

If you like hard rock check out Volbeat, they mix old blues with heavy metal sounds, it's awesome!

tried slipknot, system of a down and linkin park but i dont really like the slipknot or system of a down and some linkin park songs are ok, havent had a chance to try volbeat out yet though

Gorrilaz are ok for alternative they have a good up beat sound. Franz Ferdinand have a few goos ongs and their self titled album is immense. Oasis and Blur are great bands as well with great lyrics. finallyThe Verve have got one of the best songs ever in their discography (Bittersweet symphony) these are all desognated alternative rock but I dunno what you'll think of them. I think they are all great but they're nothing like what has been suggested.

You seem like you have a rather "girly" taste in music so I'd recommend Nightwish, Within Temptation, After Forever, Insidious Decrepancy, and Defeated Sanity.

linkin park!! thay have some rock and rap songs that are actually good. they are probably top ten of bands in the world right now!
