I assure all users that this will be one of my last threads for the moment. I simply had a lot of questions.
When a post is deleted, can a mod still see them? I mean, it would be stupid if a flamer could get away with it by simply crossing their fingers that the target deletes their post before a mod reads it. It would be too simple. So, can mods see these deleted posts? Or are they really lost to us forever.
When a comment left on another users messenger is deleted, it's gone forever. If a user is stupid enough to delete a flame comment from another user, well, they obviously deserved it. If a mod saw it, and deleted they would most likely confront the user whom was flaming and tell them not to do it again, the user could potentially be banned depending on the amount of warnings he/she has previously received, or the seriousness of the attack. So if it was deleted by the receiver, no, a moderator will never be able to see it.
If it was on the forum, like Jrmagic said, yes a moderator did see it, and probably handled the problem at its source.
To sum it up, deleted by user on there messenger: the comment can never be seen again. Deleted on the forums: a mod saw it.
I remember a mod telling me delete the posts, maybe I was wrong. So only delete a post if it isn't useful anymore?
You should not delete flames or spam on your wall, if you plan on reporting it. The mods cannot and will not do a thing without any evidence (comments) that there has been things going on that should not. You can delete it afterwards, but if you delete it before a mod has seen it and acted on it, if that is the case, there will be no consequences for the wrong doer. Even if a bunch of users report the same user, there will not happen anything if none of them keep the comment.
