Without having to go to their profile? It's a good idea, all it would take would be to add a green/red dot next to each person to tell you immediately who's online and who isn't. Did you suggest this in the profile update sticky?

But on a more serious note, Do you propose this for mutual friends or to people you add to your friends list just for the sake of visiting their page to talk them.
When i first saw this i thought yea we already have this-next? But it is a interesting idea after all. Like unlimited said it takes time to go to people's profiles and looking on the dot to see if there on (especially my cp it is really slow). And it would only take a dot by your freinds. And the users online thing was pretty nice but even then you'd have to sort through and find the names. I like the idea... it might work.
I think he meant the "Recent active" block in the bottom of the page. I miss it a little too, mainly because it looks weird without it.

I think Carlie said that they removed it temporarily, I don't know why though.

no offense, but normally low rank users don't have that many permanent friends until they gain a few ranks. Though I still have problems with finding good users that are active when I am, speak clearly, are nice, talk to, don't leave, and leave their comments open(Cenny almost made it)
