He also predicted the world would end on December 21, 2012. I believe the mayan calendar also ended on that date.

Care to back that up with a valid source, not just an website saying that, an actual document? You can create anything you want these days and have people believe it, doesn't mean it's actually true. Plus, with the Mayan calendar ending theory, isn't it just possible that they had to end their calendar somewhere? I mean, honestly, what are they supposed to do? Make an infinitely long calender? My Monty Python calender ends, doesn't mean its the end of the world just because they couldn't be bothered to print an infinite amount of pages.
