Rock & Roll doesn't just mean whatever Rock band is doing well in the popular music charts.
Yes, and after Kurt Cobain committed suicide, all forms of rock, including grunge, went into hibernation.
It's a huge genre with uncountable numbers of bands all over the world.
Talking about the United States here.
Hey, I mean if you enjoy the music, that's great, but don't go saying 'it changed the world' just because he blew his brains out with a shotgun.
I never said that his suicide changed the world; I said that it had a long and lasting influence on the music scene that we see today, and that said influence spills (spilled) over into other aspects of life, such as fashion and other trends

I disagree completely.

If you were purely talking about the grunge scene, and only in Seattle, then I'd say you're right. And again, if you're going to compare him to truly legendary bands like The Beatles, you're defeating your own point. The Beatles had a massive impact worldwide, and he just didn't.
lol Bia. I think that Curt Cobain had a great gift for songwriting but he doesn't deserve all the fame he got. With Nirvana the grunge almost became mainstream and people thought he was the creator of the genre, but there was several bands there before him. I'm a big fan of Nirvana though and my favorite song is On A Plain. My favorite rock band of the 90's is Alice In Chains.
