What do you mean by restarting? Do you mean that it loses all it's songs and you have to keep updating it?

Open it with iTunes and then restore it to it's original settings.

by restarting, do u mean it shows the apple logo over and over? my classic was doing that, but i had gotten mine wet. i left it out to dry for a couple weeks, then lost it lol, so 2 months later i found it, put it on to charge and it had stopped doing that. has your gotten wet? dropped it? try restoring it maybe?

It's charged right? My Touch does that when it's not charged...but that's usually pretty obvious.
