These levels are for Crush the Castle

Post your own killer fortress or try your hand at crushing the castles of others. For users posting their own creations, please consider the following guidelines:

Give your castle a title. This will allow other members to easily reference it in their comments.

Show off your work with a screenshot. A great tool for screenshots and videos is Jing.

Provide a description or hint. If your castle has any notable features or specific tactics make sure to let people know about them.

Don't forget your code. Simply copy the code directly from the Crush the Castle editor and past it in its entirety within your post.

We had a ton of fun making this game and are really looking forward to seeing what you can do!

We Three Kings Castle by Mehaffey

This castle is EXTREMELY difficult...

Strategy:

Castle Construction

I wanted to make a castle that was seemingly impossible. In many castles it is too easy to just load up on explosive clusters and blast the character through the walls, so I wanted to eliminate that possibility. I also wanted a castle that could withstand blasts and parts of the castle crumbling. So, here is where I ended up...

The whole front of the castle is a crumple zone. As it gets impacted together it actually gets stronger. I experimented and found what I believe is the strongest way to build a "chamber" for a character and used the king because he is the shortest character and allowed for the chamber sides to be shorter, and therefore more stable. I placed the Kings towards the rear of the castle for obvious reasons. Also, the game lag is part of the strategy. Because there are so many pieces things run slower, but as you get more and more pieces to the ground, things begin running faster and mess up your release time.

Killing the Three Kings

Though the front of the castle is a crumple zone it must be taken out of the picture. It is best if you can get the pieces of the front half to fall forward and out of the way, but you will need the back half of the crumple zone to push into the rear chambers. I would use only cluster bombs... the added weight of boulders actually helps the castle stability. Here is a shot after 35 shots... please note I did not count missed shots in this total.

You have to keep pounding away, getting pieces out of the way until you can effect the main foundation, and then you can get it to collapse. In the end I got the Three Kings after 76 REAL shots... I'm sure it could be done quicker, but I don't think for less than 50. Here's a pic of the Kings finally dead... Good Luck to you!

I think it's brilliant. But my computer's awfully old and awfully laggy, so it took about 3 minutes to kill the king. Then I reseted and blasted the structure with triple bombs and the king died in 10 seconds. o.O
