well if i could find it i could tell you this better but oh well:

some mod. came poking around and said "hey what do you know this has been brought up 50 million times and it's a stupid question!"

you could also probablly look at it to see a mod wrote on it too saying why you don't do this. and now this will probablly be locked soon aswell.

Usual reasons for locking:

The question has been answered.

There is too much spam.

It will feed spam because there is little rules in the OP.

It was nothing but a link.

It had no purpose.

And so on.

It probably had nothing to do with you yourself, Royadin. I can't really point out the real
problem since I don't know the thread in question, but it can be a good chance that the thread was
filled with spam, or that the question was already answered and they dubbed your thread as
a "duplicate thread". Other users could have contributed by spamming in it too, so again, it
probably had nothing to do with you yourself.

The question was the one about the x-box and how to fix one case of the red ring of death... yeah...

Well, looking at it:
-You started out with a triple post.
-You asked for a merit.

Voidy has a good point.

Oh, and asking why a topic was locked via a thread is a no-no.
