I'm having difficulties with the council members on heroic even though I don't remember them being nearly as strong and use extra healing every time in challenging... Anyway I'm a lvl 20 psychological and what I was using was epiphany on the one that Roland will attack while I destroy the other one's shield with dark/infusion and corruption also using psychopath and wraith form whenever available. Thing is they always use the additional healing buff (forgot its name, can this be dispelled with electroshock though?) and I'm having trouble decreasing their health. Also Veradux is very weak and I need to use freewill from time to time on him and Roland as well which wastes turns and with Roland only doing like 600 damage each time, Veradux on defensive mode and them recovering 700 health each turn with their buffs I'm having a tough time... I don't want to use any training fights to get better gear either because I only did this again for zone 7. What's my play here?
Also, if I get the Legend achievement is that all I need for zone 7? If I do some training fights in zone 6 (had problems with the bomb on challenging) will it still allow me to go to zone 7?
Oh and they also have an attack that deals 2k+ damage out of nowhere (they usually do around 600-1k to my team mates and 250-500 to me) and this is not the deadly attack one does if you kill the other, this happens while they're both alive.
Yes, you can get the Legend achievement if you do training fights in zone 6, so long as you don't do any training before you fight the mayor.
My Psychological run was only on Challenging (with training fights to boot) so I'm not sure how to beat the council on a Psych legend run. If Epiphany isn't dealing enough damage then perhaps you could try an electric build, with Traumatize as necessary.
Yes, the Legend achievement + beating zone 6 is enough to get to zone 7, no matter how much training you did after Legend. If you have other characters on Hero mode, once you get Legend with one character then those other characters can also go to zone 7, even though they trained before fighting the mayor.
Wow this is really frustrating... there is no way for me to get their health down evenly. The 2k out of nowhere damage that they do halfway through the fight really annoys me (they just do 800 all fight then BAM 2.8k you're dead gg). Trauamtize's 50% dmg decrease makes it not worth it imo. And I don't have many electric abilities upgraded, I guess I could try only using a maxed electroshock instead of dark infusion and corruption? Or just give up... this battle seems terribad for this class, you have zero abilities to stagnate anything that they do, and no way around the dot and debuffs they put on you as well.
If you're playing Psycho, you really shouldn't be using Dark Infusion and Corruption as regulars. Dark Infusion's damage is crap. Enemy regaining Focus is **** as well. Corruption does moderately good damage, but is costly on your Focus.
Your maximum possible damage with Electric attacks is by having a maxed Shock Therapy, with Wraith Form and maxed Charged Blood. High Speed and Instinct, and high Piercing. The maximum possible damage regardless of build on a sinlge attack psychos can do is 530% of Instinct by Nightmare, although it causes the foe to regain health. In this case, it's best to use as a finisher, or if you can somehow coax Veradux to use Electro Bolt and dispel Nightmare's Over from the enemy.
The point of Traumatize is not destroying foucs (well, for the Baron, it is),it's stunning it. You're supposed to use Traumatize if you want to stun the enemy to buy some time and drain focus, or Shock Trauma solely for stunning and recovering. Since you have to kill these guys in practically the same turn or face the horrible conseqences, it's best to use Shock Coma, however, 2 turns straight (to compense the damage done to each one).
I'm still not up to that point, I have to get past the Hounds, so I can't give much help. Sorry.
Actually, Traumatize's value comes in stunning the opponent, so even if the damage is halved, the council members aren't doing any damage against you. Gives Veradux some breather space to heal up!
Hmm... well Infusion/Epiphany/Corruption combos always worked for me so I guess I never bothered with lightning attacks. But I guess I can try some respecs. The other thing is my gear as well, I'm not sure whether to use the shield+this blade for high vitality/resistance or not, I seem to have more trouble with it vs. this particular enemy (the shield did wonders vs the riot police and blood hounds tho) so I switched to the Poseidon which drops my health from 4.5k to 2.3k (but has like 95 more instinct than I do now and also has the lightning piercing). I also have all my points in instinct fwiw. Anyway a respec gives me 24 points and to do anything significant I'd have to drop Psycho and Epiphany which is ugh... because I'd need maxed tenacity as well. I have maxed free will and without it I don't know if I'd last long, but like you said Nightmare seems like a good finishing move and I don't know if sacrificing free will for it will be worth it. I guess I'll try a few runs with both.
What I have so far is 1st tree with tenacity maxed, Shock therapy maxed with wraith form and Charged blood maxed. Freewill maxed but will try nightmare maxed as well without freewill. And so far have 3 shock therapies/3 free wills (will replace this on a nightmare run obv)/wraith form/electrical storm.
Oh ok, I got them down on the 3rd try... I guess when you do 4k dmg with wraith form it doesn't matter as much whether you kill 1 first or not. Thanks for opening my eyes to the lightning tree.
For win this battle without training, you must have a full eletric building. Probably we have another ways to beat the Council Members, but I used that:
1: Your armor must give at least 200 points of instinct; if it don't, your chances is drasticaly reduced. 2: Re-spec. Your attributes should be (after you use they) around this:
Shock Therapy Shock Therapy Shock Therapy Electrical Storm Electrical Storm Wraith Form 2x Traumatize (if you have high health) 2x Free Will (if you have low health)
For who have low health: Start with wraith form; it will give you two turns in a row. Now you have 4 turns for break the shield of one City Council, before your wraith form over. After this, you just need to finish with the first Council, and protect you and your party members from attacks of the second, until your Form be avaliable again.
For who have high health: Do the same of who have low health, but don´t protect your team; stun the first City Council and try to break shield of the other whith normal attacks. When second die, you use wraith form to easily destroy the other.
"romrAremaGeduD", I did a guide for Psychos specific for the Blood Hounds level; I think of it is on the first or second page, it probably will help you.
Yes, well, the problem is I'm doing a Legend Run, so I can't train, nor can I do previous boss battles. As it stands, I'm level 19. I'm stuck on the Hound Battle, with the Caretaker.
I tried nightmare and shock therapy on my Psych run, but in the end I realized that if you have 5/5 charged blood, 2x shock therapy does more damage in the end (especially when you count the turn of healing that nightmare gives before you can do shock therapy).
