They cry about the forests being chopped down, but in reality, North America is not losing forest land at any alarming rate due to logging. I mean.. we use wood for a lot of things; in order to keep up with the demand & ensure that they don't run out of raw material, companies have to replant forests specifically for the purpose of harvesting wood.
There is a diminishment of forest in third world countries though in particular, as many are trying to clear the land in order to grow crops to feed their families.

This post does not take into account that 3rd world countries are those most frequently exploited by 1st world countries for natural resources. As such the forests in the US may not be disappearing but those in Africa, South America and South East Asia certainly are. It's not just a matter of "feeding families" either, you should probably take a look at the independent environmental surveys for more accurate information.
