Just like with the council members I'm having trouble with their evolved counterparts. I'm a level 28 psycho using 2 free wills 3 electroshocks, wraith form, traumatize and electrical storm (which are all maxed and I also have charged blood maxed, and tenacity as well). I also have 651 instinct and 137 vit. However they still do like 5k damage with their pink beam attack and like 700-1.2k with their melee. Anyways I've got about 7k health on Sonny and like 10-11k on Veradux and Roald and I'm doing about ~3k regular damage with 6k or so critical (Roald does 1.2k or so and I keep him on relentless). Any suggestions as to what to do/try vs. them? Also is using Poseidon's staff instead of law binder for electro damages worth it (it has 98 lightning piercing but like 40ish less instinct)?
What I did was I took 3 shock therapy, 1 electrical storm, 1 free will, 1 terrify, wraith form and psychopath form. I also used my attributes to pump my vitality up to around 260 (wearing full cryptic set + wrath of the council staff), rest on instinct. Also had Tenacity and Charged Blood maxed out. With all this combined I had 14000 hp and could sustain myself against two of the councillers alone, but that's not what has to happen.
What you should do is keep Roald at bay, make sure he doesn't kill early. Notice that both enemies will focus on the same target, that target needs to be free willed immediately, and that way he will survive until Veradux tops him up. Now here's the thing, take both enemies down to around 500 health, so when they heal for 700, a shock therapy can kill them. Make sure a teammate is alive and cross your fingers. Pop Wraith Form, that means you will get initiative against the guardians, and kill one of the guardians. This is important since if you don't have enough speed, the remaining guardian kills everyone. Now the guardian probably kills someone, and if it's not you, free pass, you may now kill the last one.
Forgot to add, yeah, you'll probably go all "noob" on me for having Psychopath on me, but when you don't have Terrify or Free Will to heal you, it will keep you alive.
Actually I seem to do less dmg than I thought. It's only at like 2.3k or so without critical and like slightly less than 4k with critical. I don't have salvation maxed, should I apply this on Veradux first thing? I also use the mendin beacon/blast shield combo (which adds 150 to vit but you only get 88 instinct, is mending beacon better than this for this fight?). I don't have that staff Baliame, how much instinct does it have? I guess I'm gonna try lvling up a bit first though... Veradux is only lvl 24.
Meh I got them down on the first try without changing anything but leveling up til 30. Thing is I don't have any room for their gear (I heard it's useful for the fight ahead?) so I'm gonna re-do the fight, sigh... hopefully it won't autosave.
Also, not to start a new thread, how can you beat the fire samurai? I mean if I put on the guardian's gear on me I no longer die from 1 hit (it still does like 7k dmg) but my instinct drops so much that my hits not longer go over 4k and I only do 1 dmg each time. Does he drop his buff halfway into the fight or something? Or are you supposed to get his focus down or something?
Ugh, I thought about doing that but it just seemed so long... Anyway I did finish him this way (is there another possible strategy for the psycho though?) and then got to the Corruptor. Anyway I destroyed his orbs and used the same thing again and waited the 99 turns for the buff to wear off (sigh...) and then I begin attacking him and it all goes well until on his turn he puts the buff back on again wtfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff sdasfdsfsdghfsdgdsfghdsfgdsghfadsgdsagdsfgdsgsadgadsgadsg I didn't want to wait another 99 turns so I restarted. Did you kill him before the orbs (even with confinement maxed I find this hard) or somehow before killing the orbs? (I guess another thing that could work is simply keeping him stunned even after his buff wears off, if only I had known he'd cast it again ahead of time damn...)
Nvm, I got lucky and had my teammates attack the self-destructing orb just right, not over attacking it obv, and had the healing orb heal the damaged orb instead of the corruptor and so I was able to defeat him in a couple of turns... surprised to see the battle end after he died though, but then again those orbs were passive either way.
A shortcut to the Fire Samurai and the Corrupter is to use High Voltage, High Voltage, Shock Coma, Shock Coma, High Voltage, Retrograde. For the Corrupter, notice that the orbs don't attack, so you can finish the corrupter in 6 turns. Alternatively, High Voltage, High Voltage, Shock Coma, Shock Coma, Retrograde, Shock Therapy.
For the guardians, you can Shock Coma one council member repeatedly (2 Shock Coma equipped, used every 4 turns) to bring him out of the fight. I killed one guardian using the standard Wraith Form + Shock Therapy x 2 + Electric Shock. The remaining guardian never saw the light of day with two Traumatizes + one Shock Coma + attacks.
