Who are your favorite lyricists? Mine would have to be Isaac Brock, Syd Barrett, and John Lennon. Isaac Brock is my favorite though. =]

As much as I hate the music, Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz is an amazing lyricist.

Beyond that their music is garbage.

It would definitely be T.I. that man has gone through some serious hardship, and his lyrics show that, there is beauty and grace within the lyrics that is coupled with a great beat. No surprises he got 2009 album of the year.

Mikael Akerfeldt of Opeth is an awesome lyricist.

I can't get how you people can think rappers are great lyricists lol, every song is about how rich they are and how many people they shoot and stuff wtf

k this mnay surprise some people but I will go for Pete towshend. They always sound so good and they suit Roger so well somehow. tommy and Quadrophenia are lyrical works of art and he has penned some of the most famous songs and lines of all time. "I hope I die before get old" (even though he hates it)

Second is John lennon for obvious reasonshis songs for the beatles are immense and weirdly catchy.

Next is Noel Gallagher because asis have some of the most beautiful lyrics I have ever heard. Wonderwall and Lve Forever are two of my favourite songs of all time.

I'd also include Bob Dylan chaotix567, although he can go over the top. He did admit a few times how some of his lines were written when he was completely high.

I'd also include Jim Morrisson and Nas.

Morrison was an incredible lyricist. Brock gets credit for almost every song having a deeper meaning, and for his genius wordplay.
