So they are leaders because they are succesful? Well, fine

Well, pretty much. Too be succesful you had to have done a good job, at least from their views of what is right or wrong.

It is believed Alexander the great, may have died due to viral encephalitis, malaria, typhoid fever, poisoning, or the one that I think would be most tragic and shameful, alcoholism.

What have you got against dictators?! I mean, just because they slaughter their own people, and others, and destroy infrastructure by not paying attention to it, and create needless wars, and allow torture and...and...oh well yeah...I suppose those are all pretty good things to hold against someone.

yea so? it is personal opinion.

I would have to go with Julius Caesar, from much of the current world today, is influenced by this great man. The calendar we use now, is called the Caesarian calendar. We even refer to some kings as Caesars, because of the mark left by Julius.

I'm not saying they're bad leaders, I'm just surprised, thats all.

Since we're including dictators now I'd have to say that Deng Xiaoping (IDK about spelling) was definitely a great leader. He made China's doors open to the world and he helped start their prospering economy.

In terms of sheer success, I would have to pick Ghengis Khan, Since he created the largest empire in the history of mankind. However, I feel that the greatest leader ever was Napoleon, because of his enormous success with the incredibly small lot he started out with in life.

Emperor Trajan, commanded and ruled the largest empire in the entire world. And shall always be known to mankind as the ruler of the largest area. However I would have to say the greatest leader is Augusts, the first roman emperor, who united all of Rome together under 1 banner.
