The first battle will be between.... Kiss and Aerosmith
Marvin, he was a friend of mine And he could sing a song His heart in every line Marvin sang of the joy and pain He opened up our minds And I still can hear him say Aw talk to me so you can see What's going on Say you will sing your songs Forevermore (evermore)
Gonna be some sweet sounds Coming down on the nightshift I bet you're singing proud Oh I bet you'll pull a crowd Gonna be a long night It's gonna be all right On the nightshift Oh you found another home I know you're not alone On the nightshift
Jackie (Jackie), hey what'you doing now It seems like yesterday When we were working out Jackie (Jackie, oh) you set The world on fire You came and gifted us Your love it lifted us Higher and higher Keep it up and We'll be there At your side Oh say you will sing Your songs forevermore (evermore)
Gonna be some sweet sounds Coming down on the nightshift I bet you're singing proud Oh I bet you'll pull a crowd Gonna be a long night It's gonna be all right On the nightshift Oh you found another home I know you're not alone On the nightshift
Gonna miss your sweet voice That soulful voice On the nightshift We all remember you Ooh the songs are coming through At the end of a long day It's gonna be okay On the nightshift You found another home I know you're not alone On the nightshift
I see that Ernie has renewed interest in this thread. That is good to see.
It is a very hard decision. But I'll have to go with Earth, Wind & Fire they are arguably one of the greatest artists in rock and roll history, they were "innovative, precise yet sensual, calculated yet galvanizing", as Rolling Stone magazine put it, and they changed the face of black R&B in the 70's. They're the seventh-highest selling AAmerican group of all-time, selling over 90 million albums (wow!), and you've got to be great if that many people like you. And, in 2000, their greatness was recognized when they got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
This battle will be called shortly depending on either Pixie's schedule or mine. been a busy few days for me here, but it'll be slowing down soon so i'll be able to give my full self-alloted time slot for armor games then.
Hey Ernie, just for future reference and in an effort to please most of the people most of the time... uh, what is "doucherock"?
I consider "doucherock" usually to be one of these things:
1) When some idiot sings stupid lyrics on an acoustic guitar.
As portrayed in that one Family Guy episode.
2) When some skinny high-voiced loser makes some "rock song" that girls seem to be attracted to. Not Justin Bieber, because he is nowhere near a rock musician.
I know that's a picture of Owl City.
3) When people who look homeless create music that some people can actually listen to.
Okay, I'll admit that Passion Pit has one okay song...but the rest is unlistenable!
@ Ernie : Who?, Who? and last but not least... Who? 0_o Have never heard of any of the three, but I'm guessing you mean 'op music that has a country guitar that's been volumed up a bit in it'? =P
Please don't say you dislike actual 'Rock Ballads'... please...
