Well, I came up with this Idea that we could armor dollars (Just a generic name) based on our AP count that would allow us to buy certain 'fun' features such as different AG color schemes or backrounds for our home page. To address any problems that might occur, I'll make a list of things that might be problematic.
Cost - You don't have to pay for them. Users who already have alot of AP - Everyone will start on an even keel as we don't want say firetail_madness buying everything with 30,000+ AD. Backrounds - They will be similar to armatars exept they will have a 'ghost' appearance for all to see. Spam - This will at least be partially eliminated due to relatively high AD costs such as 500AD and so forth. Color Schemes - Probably the hardest to implement and it's just a suggestion. What get's AD - There AP equivalents.
Well, it's just a suggestion that happened off the top of my head, so don't take it to seriously. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Ok, about spam. I said it would be partially eliminated due to the fact they'll be spamming for a very long time to try and get these, by which time the mods will probably have noticed.
And the 'rewards' would be hard to code for in a short period of time.
No it wouldn't.
We need another way instead of getting points to get armor dollars. We already need AP to get armatars, so getting AP to get AD is out of the question for me. It should be something simple, like getting views/posts on your threads, helping someone out in the forums and the mods can just "check you off" or something. Merits, definitely, that'll encourage members to write some reviews. Posting a legitimate armatar in contests, for instance; It's almost like somebody is "aying" you. We can't just throw AP in there and get AD also, that's almost kinda lazy for most people, since lots of members already have high AP as it is.
Besides, it's not like this was the first time someone has come up with this. I had plenty of time to think about this ;-)
We already have AP, there wouldn't be much difference..but the suggestions are good except for the one about spam. This is most likely to invoke more spam in users.
