My favorite type of music is rock. I like it because of how different each song is, it's not like metal which all sounds a lot alike. Same with hip-hop and rap. Rock can be played on just about any instrument, very flexible. I'm learning to play the piano, and I'm realizing that almost all the rock songs I try sound really good (if not better) on the piano. Which is usually thought of as an instrument for classical music.
Classic Heavy Metal because of the uniquness of it. Everything pre 1980 counts such as black sabbath ect. Every song was different and was almost always good.
I like alternative because the lyrics often sound like fortune cookies. Also the rock implementation becomes alternative rock, which is definitely my favorite genre. Not as deathly as metal, but still not happy. I also like punk rock, the guitar and drums are usually more pronounced than in alternative (rock).
groove metal such as Lamb of God and Pantera progressive/technical metal such as Meshuggah and Gojira death metal such as Whitechapel Assorted other bands that include: Born of Osiris, Dethklok, Otep, etc.
I like alternative, rock, and pop, and I guess a bit of hip-hop. I like what XM20 plays. I don't like rap a lot because of the rude and degrading lyrics. I don't know what else.
I like most types of music, rock, some rap, country, jazz, and ambient. My favorite though would have to be classical and opera. I like the calmness, the flow of the notes, and the instruments used.
