paradox - a statement or proposition that seems self-contradictory or absurd but in reality expresses a possible truth.

Post your favorite paradox here! Explain why it is a paradox, unless it is painfully obvious. You may also use this thread to discuss different paradoxes if you must.

Here is mine: This is a lie.

If this is a lie, how can the assertion that this is a lie be true? If the fact that this is a lie is a lie, then it is the truth? But if it is the truth then that means it is a lie..

Get it?

Trust me.
I'm lying.

I really love that one, although it is possible to understand.

Once there was a boy who hated his grandpa with a passion, he found a way to travel back in time and decided he would go kill him when he was young. He went back in time, ran him over with a car and he died. Soon after he disappeared since his grandpa wasnt able to have his dad. Since he disappeared, he wasnt able to kill his grandpa so he lived and so did his son and so did his only to repeat the cycle over and over again
is that it?

The AG King

that in itself is a paradox, he thinks he is the king of AG, when everyone knows full well that he isnt. Could this be irony? or rather a paradox ...

I think that this question would be one...

Have you ever stopped to think and forgot to start again?

Possibly, maybe, not sure. Anyway, it kind of fits even if it's not a paradox.

Man can never be free of control, for to be free of control is to be controlled by oneself.

I have to say, I love zeno's paradox, about the tortoise and Achilles. It involves some calculus and some nifty thinking.

Why thank you. Though you spelled the name wrong. That should read Xzeno's Paradox.

Seriously, I was going to mention that one as my personal favorite.

lol not xzeno's paradox, zeno's paradox. Zeno was a math mathematician who explored the world of calculus through trick questions.

The paradox mentioned in WoD: M;tA.
Simply said it is what happens when a non magician sees magic* happening, and reality tries to correct itself. This can lead to demons from the Abyss being released, or the mage to be distorted.

*something that cannot be explained by any means, thus being real magic
