Recently I was playing Run Elephant Run with music by Krlz, and I was thinking, wouldn't it be great if I could listen to this music at times other than playing the game? So I was wondering what everyone thought about putting together an Armor Games CD with some of the best music from around the site. It could be available in the store. Maybe we could all vote on what tracks should be on it, or John and others could just choose what they think is a good sampling of music. Certainly I think we have enough original music and creative musicians on AG that I think we could get it to work and get a really nice CD that we would all listen to. I know I'd buy one.
Hmm, some of the music from the games are found on NG, who has a large archive of music. I am pretty sure the Elephant run is from there.
Anyway, there is a number of problems with this (though probably a fun idea): Copyright issues. A good number of the games on AG is from other sites (the game makers uploading them on a lot of sites). Which means they do not belong to AG in the first place. More copyright issues. As mentioned some of the music does not even belong to the gamemaker, but is found somewhere, and used with permission. To get the music and be able to seel it, would mean there should be some kind of agreement with the original developer as well as the guy who made the music to be able to use the name of the game on something that is sold, as well as being able to actually have permission to sell the music. Lastly there is the problem with voting and so on, but the other two is far more serious.

One more thing...AG's shop isn't really active at the moment. If it has a personality I'll say it's down in the dumps crying.
If it's in a CD, we'll have to take into account the cost, transport costs, packaging etc.
And yes, Cen mentioned the most important thing hindering it.
If you sorely want to listen to it, try contacting the makers. Perhaps they can either let you copy it, if they composed it, or get permission from the creators themselves.
Or the old fashion way. Record it...though I'm not sure if it is fully legal. And the sound quality would be pretty much affected.
