As far as I know, there is no AP limit.

The AP limit does not matter, until someone reaches 100,000 AP like Pazx said.

We already know that AG can support 7 digit AP numbers. It'll be a few years until someone reaches 100,000.

What do you mean? Not many people are likely to reach it (if it does exist) and for most AP isn't that important. I don't forsee any huge effects.
