I only like one Flaming Lips song, and it's that pot-induced one about Spongebob.

I enjoy indie rock very much.... only when I get a bit tired of constant rap and R&B

Answering Machine by The Replacements happens to be a fairly good songs

Currently I have little time for music, but listening to some Indie rock in the morning gets me pumped up.

I saw the flaming lips life once (supporting The Who I didn't go for them really) an I was very impressed they have a very good stage practise. For alternative I think Oasis and Blur are right up there with the best (I didn;t realise they were altertative but they are apparently) Live Forever and coffee and TV are some of the best songs of recent times I reckon.

Indie = indwependent. It's sort of like alternative, but it's also a bit unique.

I'd second Oasis and Blur, prefer Oasis myself. Don't like Liam though. He's an arrogant northern monkey in my opinion.

Too happy? Jeez, that guy is uninformed. A lot of indie rock songs are quite pensive or sad. . .and some of it (like 'A Different City' by Modest Mouse) is quite upbeat. The guitar intro to 'A Different City' is awesome.
