Heh, then in the box that shows posts and comments etc. there could be a ban counter to show everyone how much you fail.
I imagine a 100 point deduction would make a lot of people think before breaking the rules, though in some circumstances newbies might get the wrong end of this without really intending to. We all know enough of them don't read the stickies as it is.
They can't just delete AP out of the blue ; the post/comment/rate counter wouldn't add up correctly. This would bring up a lot of questions from those that are banned. Getting banned should be punishment enough.
It also depends on how long you have been active on Armor Games. if you want a penalty such as mass point deduction, perhaps it should be focused on the slightly older users. the old punishments should be kept for the new users, seeing as how..they're new.

They do deduct points. There was a user (jirocks?) who told me he got a temp ban and a 600 point deduction. Try asking him. And he got ban for a wrong reason. He was an innocent person.

Possibly because of a lot of comments being deleted? Mods cannot delete ap. They can delete posts and comments, but that is all.
yeah, AP loss due to banning sounds like a cool idea... maybe some sanctions first like maybe beside the user's frame there's a profile status.
example:
1st Warning = close monitor (banned few days) 2nd Warning = probation (banned few days -400AP) final Warning = strict probation (banned few days -800AP) kicked = deactivated (profile is deactivated)
Hmm...who knows what secret powers mods have hiding up their sleeves? Then again better not ask.
Well, it has been denied last time this suggestion was up. And I think Carlie said something about it as well, but not quite sure...
Anyway, now I can see why this would be an awefully evil punishment for people who care about the AP... But then again, spamming usually is follwed by the spam being deleted, flaming is usually followed by banning, and flammers does not care about AP...

Spammers usually get away with it....in the Comments for game. Every single comment goes along the lines of 'Boring', 'Worthless', '7/10'...and the like. If the mods deleted them the palce will look like a Christmas Tree without the decorations. And the leaves.
Aside from that...deducting AP isn't such a bad idea. Though I wouldn't suggest 400 AP at a go....

Well, I feel with them. Going through 20+ pages of those comments, deleting all of them, and trying to find proper comments... Worst thing is, I would find it terribly amusing... Must be my evil side.

Is that for regulars, or for newbies not knowing a thing?

Perhaps deduct AP for repeated offenders who come here often. They are the one's who will keep coming back after temp bans and besides they should already know the exact rules. It's hard on newcomers just to deduct AP for offences. Plus a negative AP Score would look terrible on profiles...
Aye. Also, if we look at the top 100, how many there are not going to cry snot after loosing, say, 50 AP. More will make them get angry at the mods, really (coughTenniscough*).
