Unbiased opinion I would have to say Coronation street or Blue Peter just for longevity and overlall popularity. But my favourite show is by far Dr. Who great cast (though it varies), great stories and the funniest sets ever especially in the old days when it would wobble a bit and repeat when the Dr. would run around. Plus it has some of the best and most enduringly "scary" (to some) monsters and aliens ever. The Daleks are just immense.
All In The Family. Great cast, great writers, likeable characters, easy to make fun of. Sure, it's controversial. But I still love watching those re-runs.
A difficult question. Obvious people choices would also include (in no particular order), Frasier, Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Get Smart, Magnum P.I., The Brady Bunch...
But I'm going to be bold and suggest one that's still currently running. I'm going to suggest Top Gear. Everything about it stands as a testament to the depth of its cultural impact worldwide, which is saying something in this day and age of fads and the internet.
I'm a huge Top Gear fan! Also a big fan of Mythbusters, Bones, and House. Other than those 4, oh, and True Blood, I really limit my television time to educational type stuff on History, Discovery, and Food Network. (Love Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations, and Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern)
Columbo! I remember that I used to watch it when I was little. I really loved it back then. Except Columbo (lol) House, Without A Trace, Law&Order:SVU and CSI (before it become the Ray Langston show) are pretty good. Lie to Me is also rather good, but only because of Tim Roth, who is a genius.
However I personally consider either Get Smart or The Wire the best show ever. I really can't choose between these two shows.
Bones
I heard that they are considering creating a Bones spinoff.
For personal favorite is a bit of Fry and And Laurie. Has anyone heard of it?
My friend i love you great choice. Apart from that brilliant show i have a lot of others. Family Guy for its wierd crude humor, American Dad for its astute (if not slightly offencive humor). Also Ugly Betty and Pushing Daisies (has anyone heard of it?) for their quirky, funny characters and humor. Also Friends (i know its on all the time but ut never gets old). And finally Top Gear its so ridiculous it hillarious. Basically i cant come to a desicion there are way to many good shows.
Still running I'd have to say 'the big bang theory' because I think it is so funny and 'Family guy' because I also too think that is funny. (I like comedy)
Not running I'd have to say 'that 70s show' because it's the sam reason as the rest of my reasons.
Also Ugly Betty and Pushing Daisies (has anyone heard of it?)
-assassin89 I thought those shows were awful and I could barely watch them, but whatever if u like... Still think theyre BAD
[quote]-assassin89 I thought those shows were awful and I could barely watch them, but whatever if u like... Still think theyre BAD [quote] I can understand why you wouldnt like them they are quite aquired tastes (epecially pushing daisies its pretty wierd). I love them but everyone has their own opinion.
Sorry the quote thing went a bit funny, also i forgot the simpsons on my list. I know its not as funny as family guy or those cruder shoes but there are some pretty classic/ witty moments.
For those of you who have never seen All In The Family, here's some tidbits of wisdom from everyone's favorite prejudiced and opinionated old man, Archie Bunker.
I hope you enjoy these. There's lots of funny episodes, you can catch reruns on a lot of stations. I didn't put any links that involved controversial topics, some people on here are very sensitive, and Archie is very opinionated!
