Enhanced Pool ~ Skill Level 1 - I can put this elsewhere Focus ~ Mastery (Skill Level 10) Tower Builder ~ Skill Level 1 - Again I can put this elsewhere Replenish ~ Skill Level 4 Forge ~ Mastery Resonance ~ Skill Level 3 Pure Gem Mastery ~ Mastery
I am at Level 30, and have a total of 145 skill points.
My Tower Layout could also have something to do with the problem.
In is in the little loop, after the traps and before the house thing.
You don't need mastery in those 3 skills. The higher level bonuses are very small but costs really many skill points.
Try something like this instead: Enhanced Pool ~ 1-2 Focus ~ 6-7 Mana gain mastery ~ 7 or 9 Dual gem mastery ~ 6-7 Pure gem mastery ~ 6-7 Replenish ~ 6-7 Forge ~ 6-7
You may also want to put some skill points in some other mastery-skills (those that gives starter gems) or trap specialist level 6-7 if you like to use traps. Also dropping pure gem mastery completely might not be a bad idea either (dual gem mastery gives quite a lot higher bonuses) so you can get one more mastery skill to level 6-7.
I would keep forge mastery so making and mixing gems doesn't eat your mana. I made sure to use a level 3 and super gem it with other piercing purple gems in a trap with a level 5/6 drain(orange) gem with some extra grade one oranges to max mana gain.
In an unrelated note/question, why would anyone put points in Enhanced Pool? Since it only increases your maximum mana, and if you keep getting close to your maximum mana, you aren't using it very well. Through just a few uses of mana tap, you'll be at the same mana level anyways.
Just don't know if there's some benefit I'm missing, because it seems like a totally useless skill to me.

I probably agree. the only thing is if you use it a lot to get a really large pool (like in endurance mode) it gets kind of hard to pay 17k+ mana for a mere 1k increase in the pool.
But usually, I increae it as a side effect of increasing the mana points per hit forkills and orange gems, so getting a very large pool is a side effect.
OTOH, if you have a strategy that does not go for the mana increase on hits/kills, then perhaps a quick increse to where you can build the class 6 gems is a way to go. But I can't think of a good strategy that is like that.
