I'm not really concerned about programs, as I have the CS3 version of photoshop, illustrator, etc.

But I've been wondering, when creating small sized textures, such as those around the sizes of 50x50 or even 30x30, are there any tricks to up the quality of graphics?

I mean, with areas of 50x50 or less, there really isn't a lot of pixels to get a good texture created.

Do some people use higher pixel ratios, resolution, and bit settings, or are they just creating larger textures and simply shrinking them/zooming out?

Look forward to your feedback,
Thanks.

If you're working in vector art, it may be possible to make the textures at a larger size so that it still looks good when scaled down... Pixelart may also be a way of doing it...

What kind of textures is it that you want?

Higher resolution = smoother, stronger textures. It basically gives more pixels per inch.

I'm wanting building textures for different towers in my game I'm working on. I've produced a few different graphics, but because of the low pixel areas, the quality has suffered to some extent.
