Both Top and High Tiers all provide invincibility and are very easy to hit with, making them almost guaranteed to help greatly.
Sonic: With the exception of possible Mario Bros. Sonic can and WILL KO players without fail on any stage. Even in tech fests like Mario Bros. or Temple, the damage caused will be significant. You are simply not going to avoid a skilled Sonic player.
Wolf/Falco: People often tell me Falco deserves a higher spot than Wolf, and for most 1v1 matches I would agree. Though Wolfâs doesnât last as long, the added horizontal movement makes it harder for his to avoid. Fewer characters will be able to avoid Wolfâs Landmaster and that is the reason for my placement.
Snake: Cannot be spot dodged, the rate of fire combined with hitbox size as well as the length the hitbox stays out makes a deadly combination. This is essentially a downgraded version of Sonic. And in case it needed to be said, a skilled player WILL hit you multiple times and probably KO you.
Pikachu: Lacks KO power (somewhat), but does incredibly damage. See Snakeâs description; apply it here with less KO power but more damage. A skilled Pikachu player will likely rack up a good 70-150 damage on most stages.
Game & Watch: This one seriously hurts on some stages, while others not so much. Hitbox is too damn big, not to mention mobile. Basically guaranteed decent damage or KO upon grabbing the smash ball. (Though not on all stages)
Fox: Downgraded version of Wolf/Falco, the vast majority of the time, youâll at least cause significant damage or KO. Possible to avoid by some characters though, especially vertical KOs.
Luigi: Somewhat luck dependant, but easy KOs are common enough to warrant this placement. This move is also exceptional as an edgeguard.
Diddy: Free damage, decent KO potential.
Wario: The bike is devastating though suicidal enough to avoid use on some stages. Another free damage while invincible Final Smash.
King Dedede: Free damage, poor KO potential except against those with poor recovery.
Pokemon Trainer: Jump before you use it (as the hitbox reaches down as well as up) and you will most likely (depending on the stage) trap your opponent inside. Also for some added insult to injury the text can block your view, making it harder to avoid in some cases.
Samus: This one really depends on the stage. Some cases harmless, other times almost guaranteed good damage or KO.
ROB: Again, stage based. Itâs very easy to avoid in large stages, but incredibly deadly once he gets a hold of you.
Yoshi: Same as Diddy but downgraded slightly.
Lucas: Somewhat luck reliant, actually reasonable to dodge on some stages. But once again, this is free chance for damage once you get the Smash ball.
Mid Tier: These I consider to be the more balanced Final Smashes, most of which I rather like
Zelda: Incredibly easy to hit with, it boils down to whether or not your opponent(s) predict when youâll use it. Good KO potential with decent damage.
Shiek: See Zelda but less KO potential in some stages.
Pit: Much like many of the high tier Final Smashes, though Pit is still vulnerable during this time, and the attacks can be shielded. Far more effective in 1v1 fights, not so much in 3-4 player matches.
Marth: Incredible KO potential, good damage as well. Fairly easy to avoid, though very effective if more players are involved.
Bowser: Highly stage dependant. Small stages will most likely result in a KO by Bowser while larger stages most characters can avoid him fairly easily. At the very least this is quite effective at causing damage with (somewhat) minimal risk in 1v1. More players will hurt this Final Smash though.
Link: Good KO potential, great damage. Excellent horizontal range, no vertical range. Basically, think Zelda but harder to KO and can only hit one opponent.
DK: Another stage dependant. See G&W, remove KO potential and mobility.
Toon Link: See Link, remove horizontal range.
Ganondorf: A good but frequently over-rated Final Smash. See this link here:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=iaVSD2LsXoY
Decent KO power, good hitbox, though very easily predicted, and often times with some characters; easily avoided. Itâs devastating at close range however.
Captain Falcon: Good KO potential, decent damage. Good hitbox especially if you short hop before using. Fairly easy to avoid. A pretty balanced Final Smash.
Ike: See Falcon, add damage, and remove some KO potential.
Meta Knight: See Ike, remove damage, but hits other people (for small damage and small knockback) even if theyâre fairly far away from Meta Knight.
Olimar: Basically guaranteed damage though the ending impact is quite easy to avoid on most stages.
Ness: See Lucas, though much easier to avoid, and far more punishing to those that donât.
Low and Bottom Tiers: These are flat out underpowered for being either ridiculously easy to avoid or hard to hit with, or simply not devastating at all.
Ice Climbers: Stage and match up reliant. Can deal quite a bit of damage fairly easily, but can be useless just about equal amount of the time.
Peach: Sleep doesnât last very long at all, hard to capitalize on the sleep induction. Especially in 3-4 player matches, this Final Smash can even be counter-productive as other players can also heal off the items spawned.
Mario: Easy to avoid, fairly easy to escape even. Does have some KO potential; damage is miniscule to those that escape, those that take the full damage of the attack likely die anyway so damage is fairly irrelevant.
Lucario: Reasonably avoidable with not much reward upon hitting anyway.
Kirby: Ridiculously easy to avoid, but does spawn items.
Zero Suit Samus: Low damage, small hitbox, meh knockback.
Jigglypuff: Incredibly stage reliant and very situational. By the time you actually do get a good chance to use it, your opponent(s) may have already knocked the smash ball out of you.
