Did you know how varied drinking water in different parts of the world is? Like how there can be different kinds of molecules dissolved in the H2O?
You don't get pure H2O from water taps, there's usually a variety of stuff in it, calcium for instance (calcium also determines how 'hard' or 'soft' water is, which is relevant for use of washing machines).
Of course there's also the parts of the world where tap water is pretty bad to drink, or where there is no tap water... Bottled water is in my opinion ridiculous to buy, but we have pretty good tap water in Denmark, so...
How's your water? Does the stuff that comes out of your taps taste good? Is it worth drinking compared to bought water or any other form of drinkable liquid? Is water in your area generally clean or polluted?

My fridge filter tastes better than tap, though not incredibly better. I like the flavored water and gas stations and stuff.

NOTHING is ever pure. Scientists can say that a shirt was made of 100% sheep wool, absolutely nothing else, not even a molecule of something else. But then in the future, they will have better testing machines, they will retest that shirt. The better testing machines will now pick up that VERY tiny speck of non-wool material.
I love the water from my tap. The UK has very good tap water. The Yorkshire tap water has high levels of fluoride in it which is very good for your teeth though I'm not entirely sure what it tastes like.
I'm used to drinking tap water. Bottled water tastes bitterly. But when I go away from my home town tap water has a different taste, it is like every waterworks has it's own "flavor".
Water in Singapore is great! We don't have any fresh water sources actually...so the government decided to cram the place with as many reservoirs as possible. Then they filter all the dirt/waste/micro-organisms out through an elaborate process that us unfortunate students have to study.
Thereafter, water from desalination plants are included into the final mix.
--------------------------------- Here comes the interesting bit. Since even previous stated efforts of the government did not prevail, they came up with an excellent albeit disgusting idea.
What they do is to gather sewage waste/water from Singapore, buying even more from Malaysia and Indonesia. Then through complex processes such as reverse osmosis, the final mixture is pure clean water. It's called NEWater.
The downside was that most people refused to drink what previously was their own toilet water.
Result: Water here is fabulous, it feels like it came straight from the mountains!
Water in Texas is great! And water in Arizona sucks. Smells like rotten eggs and tastes like crap. That's why I haven't drank water straight from the tap in weeks. Or plain water period. I drank a little bit here and there, but nothing substantial. Water in Washington state is also pretty good.
I really like the water at home, mainly because it is instantly cold, and does not take long to get warm. Here, it is more... the same temp all the time.... It tastes okay, but since it is rather warmish, I prefer juice > >
Houses on ground level has a better pressure on the water, thus making it change temperature faster, and living on the country makes it easier cold. I miss living in the country > >...
Anyway, I have a Brita filter, and the filtered water tastes alright. But I don't think it matters, because water is simply a base sustenance for life as we all know.
