War with the West would disrupt it's major source of income. It would put pressure many Chinese workers in factories to halt or severely cut production because of fewer markets for their products.
War is not necessary to defeat China's elitist capitalism. The recession will do it just fine.
The old China-America relationship:
China lends to America-America uses that money to buy Chinese goods, thus sustaining economic growth.
New realtionship due to lack of credit:
China lends to America-America uses that money to sort out its own faltering economy, no one buys Chinese goods.
But that's only in numbers. I can almost guarrentee that if you gave 100 U.S. soldiers the exact same equipment and cover as 100 Aussie or English soldiers the yanks would lose everytime.
Not that it can be helped. I suppose it's simply because of the whole "world police" thing that's going on. A country always needs lots of cannon fodder to make money out of a war.
China is by far one of the most powerful superpowers, they're relaxed, disciplined and healthy, Britain is taking a downfall in the Economy because all they ever do is Import, China is exporting and supporting themselves easily, really speaking they don't need the updated Technology, they only don't have it because they make the items, not invent it - U.S and Britain did invent alot of things, but to update the training and qualifications for each new piece of technology takes alot from China, something they can afford.

well china's economic growth just hit 8% last quarter. So I'd have to stick with china, with 8T dollars in GDP it is currently 3rd in production output.
