Urm... I think there was a thread like this... I can't find it...

Urm...

Someone posted something like 'these comments are good, but won't get you merits as you are advertising them'.

Suggestion, or something you just want to discuss?

Anyway, if you mean on the forums, well, it will be darn hard to define what a good post is.
Would it be a post that shows good insight on one site of a case, less insight, but taking both sites into view, making a thread about people not quite knowing the etiquette of forums and acting weird, or what would it be?
I think it is hard enough to give merits for goof reviews, which is why the mods rather wants to stay in the community area, instead of searching through tons of spam.
Besides, seeing a post in all bold is more than annoying, and how long would they have to go back?
Mods are users here as well, and therefore their entire time online should not be used on searching for good posts or comments to merit.
Besides, there is a difference between a good post in the world section and the Tavern, and I doubt there is many good posts in the flash and video game section. Or in the art section for that matter.

And, last thing, promise: There is no function for the mods to do so. It will have to be implemented, and there is other things we would rather have just now (speaking for myself here, at least).

Wow, tired enough to not read properly, it seems, sorry.
Still, let them have their peace, there is a reason why we should not advertise comments...

Just because you may get a merit for giving a review for a game doesn't mean that's the
entire purpose for typing one. It gives developers insight as to what they may need to add to
their next game, such as better storyline, better sound, fixing glitches, etc. I've typed
reviews plenty of times; if every one of those reviews I typed earned a merit, I would get
over 30, and the end result was 2, but that doesn't stop me a bit.

Besides. You don't know that they never did look at it. They upped their ante on better
reviews. They probably looked at it and thought: "ehh, needs more flow", or "this has no
coherent facts about the game", or "too many grammatical errors".

In the time that they do
in fact go looking for reviews, the mods have to be a judge about it and select only the good
ones that they feel is suitable for the developers to look at. This is why you should include
great ideas for what they should add in the new game, because mods will choose reviews that
offer good suggestions. The real reason as to why the site bolds the selected reviews is
because the developer can look at this with utmost confidence and agree with the reviewer
about darn near everything he/she spoke of. Again, the entire purpose of writing a
review is so the developers can use them to further their programming careers. The
reviewers get a small 25 AP gift that you could easily get in 2 hours, much faster than
the expected time that you would be receiving a merit, which is a week.

You don't find classic strategy games like this that actually make you think. Go figure.

This game gives it a great feel with the shadows and the explosions. With many weapons to choose from, it is fun and lets you stop your vehicles to mount a unbreakable defense.

Only suggestion i have is to make a nuke or hydrogen bomb to wipe the screen of enemys.

A few cons about this game is that it has no music whatsoever. Also, i personally think it should have a skirmish mode.

Recap: great feel, fun gameplay and it makes you think, but needs a soundtrack. Excellent game. 8/10.

Don't ever ask for a merit! Well, this is like asking for a merit. This is just one tip and i'm not trying to have a merit just by commenting like this. If you get a merit because of this, this is weird...

Well is some moderator going to review my comment or what?

Maybe....
Your review might not be good enough to get a merit, you know, they could have looked at it, and did not like it.

And Mods are not going to give you anything for throwing it here.
It is rather unlikely, at least.

And to add, because I got ninja'd:
Mods do not look through all the games every day. They do have a life. Most are having exams coming up, or are in the middle of them, and keeping the forums on the line is a hard job in the first place.
Besides:
You should not write the comment for merits, but for helping the developer...

My Review

Graphics 9/10
The graphics are very good with some flaws. The characters posse is very 2-dimensional and the character can just walk right through them. The zombies are very well done with a lot of randomization. The blood is very static when the zombie hits the floor but looks very realistic.

Gameplay 10/10
The gameplay is very fun with a lot of weapons and the ability to give your posse your own weapons. The search part where you have to select where in the town or city you look that day is a great improvement over The Last Stand 1. The weapon variety is astronomical from the classic chainsaw to new weapons such as the Compound Bow or Hand Grenades. The traps are also a great improvement the first, although the variety is somewhat limited.

Sound 9/10
The music and sounds are surprisingly good, with good music that fits the mood and very accurate gun sounds. The explosions lack in realism however they are startling when Land Mines go of as it is unexpected.

Originality 9.5/10
The originality of this game is very good, although the zombie idea is very overused, The Last Stand 2 puts a new twist on things from small things such as a variety of weapons to large things such as the ability to travel but only after getting enough supplies, as well as very good music.

Overall 10/10
The Last Stand 2 is definitely a great game than anybody can just jump on their computer and play, and is probably one of the greatest games of all time, and will definitely become a classic.

This is for The Last Stand 2, with minor grammar and spelling fixes. For Version 1.31

Thats great TSL3 but MOD`s dont give merits these days.

To give them one days is not really enough. Especially not when the games are not looked through everyday. There is a bunch of games, and the older ones are not really looked through often, Gagamen.

Thats great TSL3 but MOD`s dont give merits these days.

Not true.
Mods are not having as much time to look through games as they used to have, because of the quantity of the games and comments, as well as the number of things they have to do here (thanks to the number of spam) in the limited time they have.

MOD`s didnt even spotted it so I came here.

I don't think it's merit quality. That's why nothing happened.

Taken from Moderators and Merits

We don't want you shoving your merits in our faces. We have quite a few people scouring the site looking for awesome comments to merit so if you wrote something good most likely it will be found. If it isn't found, that isn't to say you didn't do something great for the site. People who write lots of good comments end up becoming mods as well, so maybe you won't get the merit but you might get something even better!

Do not ask for a merit. Chances are, if you have to ask for a merit, you will not get one. It highly reduces your chances of receiving one, and makes us sad every time you ask

There you go. And thanks for being oblivious of my earlier speech on page one XD
