I believe that this ought to be going somewhere else...

But anyways...

First off... What general plotline do you want?

2nd: What kind of battle system are you looking for?

We need to know those things before we can offer help...

Yeah... Good luck getting help for nothing... You seriously need to put something down...

I'll put down some general comments first:

People like RPG's that follow a set of rules...

1. Balanced
2. Classes (preferably changeable)
3. MP/Focus/Energy (you get the idea)
4. Something Medieval/Magicy/Sci-Fi/Elemental

Since one and three are self-explanatory, I will discuss classes and #4 in greater detail...

There are two class systems that work. That which has highly customizable attacks and is static throughout the game (Sonny) or that which can change, but each class has more or less set attacks (Final Fantasy Tactics).

The first gives the players a lot to explore within one single class and all the combinations are fascinating. It also requires less work because there are fewer abilities.

The latter is good for many games and ends up more like chess. It requires more coding and generally is used in longer games.

In short, if you intend to have a 2-D battle like S2, Golden Sun, or most numeric Final Fantasy games, you can use static classes which are chosen at the beginning of the game. Just make sure that the individual abilities are upgradable.

If you want Isometric battles like FFTactics, you want dynamic classes. Also, if doing this, make sure that you can have some class overlay like in FFTactics... (The concept of being one class, being able to use the abilities of a second, and having whatever reaction, passive abilities you want...)

Now for the other part... The theme will generally determine the battle system needed...

If you are dealing with medieval, you need armor, swords, and more than likely, lots o' magic... You need white/black mages, magi (high offensive magic), devouts (high defensive magic), paladins (some healing and holy nuke attacks), dark knights (evil attacks), rangers, assassins, etc... If medieval, you need lots and lots of stuff...

If you want something Elemental, you will likely have medieval stuff, but as is the case of Sonny, they are not necessities...

If you want sci-fi, you need cool looking armor, maybe shields etc... Honestly, I would prefer this kind as it is as fertile as medieval, but it is relatively unused... The trick would be the right balance of skills your player learns and technology...

Oh well, I'm done lecturing the world...

S.T.O.N-Cold

S.T.O.N stands for Special Tactical Operations of Nations.
Four nations are in the S.T.O.N. US, UK, Germany and Russia.
Each country has their strong and weak points. US is balanced, Russia has awesome snipers and endurance, but are slow, the UK has pilots, but have low HP. Germany has strong people and accurate shooters, but can't drive too well. The basis is that there are strange ripholes to other dimensions and the S.T.O.N are sent to investigate. Normally, they are used in a war effort,or rebellion, but this could turn into a war effort.
Classes are:
Rifleman:Uses a futuristic rifle called an XP-95 pulse rifle. This rifle uses 5.56mm rounds charged by pulse energy with a secondary fire that uses that pulse charge as an organism disintigrater(spelling?) and in close quarters, an arm blade that uses the pulse energy in the blade.(Starting implant:Reflex) Another melee weapon, usable also by Pistoleers, is a pulse sword. With a steel core, the pulse energy clings to it, allowing the blade to deflect pulse charged bullets, with a high reflex enhancement.
Pistoleer:They have extremely powerful cybernetic enhancements that increase accuracy with a weak weapon. Their enhancements can also include super strength, making them elite melee units.(Starting implant:accuracy)
Heavy: As the name says, they deal heavy damage, but are slow at firing, and their weapons take strength to wield. They have two revolving pulse blades, one on each arm that is activated by pushing down on the top. They can become soul melee units with maxed shields.
(Starting implant: Shield)

Enhancements: These assist traits and do some special things. You have a limit of 10 enhancements PERIOD. As you level, you can add more enhancements of a certain kind.at level three, you can add one more, for example, reflex implant. In other words, one every two levels.

Reflex Implant:Allows you to do Matrix moves. Dodge bullets, deflect them that kinda stuff. One of these won't be enough to dodge machine gun fire, more like three. If you want to fill your 'orts' with reflex, you can even go through a wall without breaking it.
Accuracy: Your shots have more of a chance to hit where you want them to. You only need four implants to be able to always hit.
Strength: Helps you carry more equipment and use heavier weapons. This also helps with melee attacks. With three, you can lunge at the enemy, take him by the neck and throw him through a wall, and pick up cars.
Zero-point Gravity:This is fun. You can pick up objects with one, pull them toward you with two, throw them with three, and with four you can do this with people. Available only at level 3.
Jump: You can, well, jump higher. with two of these, you can jump a building with four bounds... but with five in a single! Oh, and you don't need to fear broken legs or other bones from falling.
Shield:This causes you to take less damage. with 5 your next to indestructible. Bosses always do the same damage.
Flame:Fire kills. With three of theses it kills more. with six it blows crap up. I'm not gonna talk about nine.
Ice: Liquid Nitrogen is fun, is it not? thats what you get to shoot out of your hands with this on your fifth implant.
Stealth: You can make yourself dissapear for a set time that increases with each implant.

This is a first person shooter game. You can choose your gender and apearance too. The armor selection is cool(ish). This is it:

Standard issue E.C.A(Enviromental Combat Armor.):Grey and Black armor. The helmet has a full HUD and radar, with radio capabilites. Oh, and if your getting nagged at, you can always turn the radio off. This suit can stand temps up to 1500 degrees farenheit, and down to -2500 degrees celsius.
Stealth Suit: Kevlar cloth, woven over 60 times. This suit is flexible and can stop most bullets. This suit does not have the temporal qualities of the standard issue.
I.D.R.S(Interdimensional Resistance Suit): Yes I realize this looks dangerously close to IRS. This suit can withstand the pressures of interdimensional travel. The suit is large, bulky, and weighs over a ton. (You might want to wait a while and let creatures come through the gate before entering).
Im working on this still so be patient.

Aahhh... This has opened up a great question... What classification of RPG are you looking at... Turn based or FPS...

Oh and some more suits...

Neo Stealth Suit (nothing to do with the matrix): Created from tightly woven titanium mesh. Also has Gecko Glue imbedded in the hands, elbows, knees and feet that allow the wearer to climb vertical faces (even glass).

Cloak (because cloaks are awesome): Created by layering Spectrefiber and titanium mesh to create a bulletproof and electro resistant armor. Comes in black and midnight blue.

Oh and for the record...

and down to -2500 degrees celsius.

That temp doesn't exist... Try -273... you can get to 0K but what you had would be like -2200K which doesn't exist... If you could even get that low, you would change the spin of the particles and thus change the phase of the object in question...

But at any rate, I would play that game...

Honestly though, I REALLY doubt that you could pull that off in flash. In fact, good luck doing that without the people that made Crysis/The Force Unleashed because otherwise, it ain't gonna happen. (But we can always hope...)

Zero-point Gravity:This is fun. You can pick up objects with one, pull them toward you with two, throw them with three, and with four you can do this with people. Available only at level 3.

So you basically have telekinesis...

Oh and random, but there is a new game coming out that is for a new system... Rather than a controller, it is a helmet that senses brain waves to play... Oh and yes, you do have telekinesis in the game (among other things)...
