Hmm...aren't classes usually comprised of people the same age?
It usually varies within a whole year, and being in the end of being 13 while the oldest in your class are slowly turning 15 does happen. At least that's how classes are set up here.

Yeah, that's true. We don't really make a big deal out of that though, I mean no one can tell if someone is a year older than everyone else in the class. Younger is generally not a factor over here (stupid Americans, lol.)
IIf you don't include the early/late people though, everyone will either be 16 going into 10th grade, or turning 16 during the course of the year. Just using 10th (Sophomore) as an example. At least I think I have that right, it's a bit confusing. You get the idea though.

I live in America... And I was born at the end of April... Thus causing me to be the second youngest guy... Of my group of friends (which are really the only ones I am halfway interested in), there is one girl that is younger and one that is a couple days older...
The only issue was, in the way of getting a car/driving, it becomes an issue... I personally don't really care that much so long as the difference isn't significant... (My brother's fiance is a year older than he is). Its just that it is a little odd to be dating a girl with a car and not having one yourself...

That is the same system we use... I just happen to be on the young side of it... Parents considered preventing me from going to school that year and had they knocked me down a grade, I would be val of that class (its really stupid and I'm a nerd...) but as is, I'm around 8th because my friends are all really freaking smart...
I've been asked out b4 but I really liked this one other girl so i rejected them all. Now after a lot of confusion and drama she's leaving the school and I can't get her to call me so...yeah.
