Just wondering how you guys think it will happen, how it will start, etc. Here's my idea on what will cause WW3
Israel attacks Palestine from the air, leading to a ground assault and occupation. Guerrilla warfare follows.
Iran supports from behind the scenes whilst making a big noise on the political stage.
Iran finally admits to direct support and offers help to the Palestinian state, supplying weapons and troops makes them a target.
The USA warns Iran to back off, 3 months of political rhetoric follow.
Russia and/or China enter this debate on the side of Iran. They offer financial and logistical support to Iran and by proxy Palestine.
Political talks fail, Russia cuts off gas supplies to certain European countries including allies of the USA, the UK being a key player here. China further causes trouble by offering support to Iran with their latest weapons.
WW3 follows, Europe is caught in the middle and segments, each country following a different agenda. Split mostly in half Europe destroys itself.
This is my worst possible idea of what could happen. I believe Europe will hold this together because they want to remain a union and will pressure the UN to hold it together. I have to admit that for once i am glad the EU exists to hold it together. I worry however that it won't hold together.
i dont think there will be a WW3 soon.. at least not until the memories of the previous 2 wars fade... and with all the micro wars being fought now i dont think anyone is too ready to go into a world ward..

Well... I don't think it would cause us trouble if Russia embargoes oil from enemies, it would be OPEC that would be neck-strangling. If the whole OPEC company (the number of nations that form it) get involved with the war, things could get interesting. Whomever is enemies with OPEC would be royally screwed from the beginning. They produce the most oil in the world by a long shot. Those that are enemies would have a heck of a lot of trouble trying to produce enough oil to fuel armored vehicles, while those that are allies would be like suckling pigs, happily mooching off the oil and manufacturing vehicles with ease. And OPEC is kind of with the Iranians, so yeah....

Well, Nostradamus believes that the Antichrist will take over Iran by using a human decoy to trick the Iranian Ayatollah in power. This will involve the "yes men" and puppets of the Ayatollah's court. The Antichrist will first drive away internal supporters of the Ayatollah by starting a civil war. Then he will put forth a man as a leader, a man for Iranians loyal to the Ayatollah to concentrate their hate on. The man will be assassinated while Iran is being taken over, and his opponents will think they have foiled the overthrow of power by assassinating him. But they will find out later he was merely a decoy and that they played into the plans of the Antichrist.
The Antichrist will initially obtain power in his own sphere, Asia, and the Middle East. As he grows out of this arena, and into Europe, the next step will be into the Mediterranean, his area of strength. Because of his Middle Eastern heritage he will have already united North Africans, who are sympathetic to his cultural background, with his Asian and Middle Eastern conglomerate.

What I think is that America will become crazy with power. They (America) will believe they can take over the world. They will start to take over South America until other countries stop them. America will become a large nation until Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia will join together and form a resistence. They will overcome America and stop their rien. It will kind of be like the Hitler rein, but a large portion of land will be taken over.

i dont think so.. if we did start to invade any country we would have such an immediate response with aggressions that we would have to stand down or lose everything.. the entire world has nukes now something we havent really had before in a war so it raises the stakes

Uhh... Yeah... That wouldn't happen. We hated annexing Texas, let alone invading South America... Technically, we could conquer the world if the US fully united because we could theoretically have a ten-million-man army... Combine that with the best arsenal in the world and an almost endless supply of nukes and we could win. Problem is, and people outside the country don't seem to understand this much, we struggle enough as it is to stay under one banner. America isn't going to rule the world anytime soon and because of our drift towards liberalism, we are now becoming more pacifistic and within another fifty years at the current rate, we will be up there with switzerland as far as pacifism goes...
As far a WW IV goes, it quite easily could eliminate humanity... By then, we would have orbital strikes, neutron bombs, maybe even AM rounds... Such devastation would easily end all life on earth. Let's hope it never happens. We could recover from WWIII, but IV would be MAD to the extreme... Let's hope we don't have another major war until we have begun colonizing space... Then again, I see WWIV happening long before we do that so let's just hope that the UN gains the ability some time in the future to actually do something about rogue nations other than impose sanctions...

Why the hell would Iran be stupid enough to admit that? That's giving the Israelis (and Americans) the excuse they have been waiting for.

Any reason why they would do this? Contrary to popular belief Russia and China don't just attack the 'West' at any oppurtunity.

The UK sources 65% of its crude oil from Norway. We'd struggle, but we'd be fine. We do have reserves of coal and North Sea Oil.
I also don't see why people think of the UK as America's partner. We won't just follow you into every conflict just for the sake of it.

Most of the countries that would fight against the 'West' would be in Eastern Europe and don't have the capability to destroy the well trained, well equipped and fairly large militaries of France, Germany Italy etc.

The EU is mainly a policial and agricultural union. It would have no say regarding a conflict.
If your scenario was to begin. What would actually happen is, Israel tightens the already dictator-like grip on Palestine, destroys them before they know what hits them and then either nothing happens or people talk to them about it, they threaten to hypothetically blow the world up with nukes that they might hypothetically, in theory, maybe have. And THEN nothing happens.
