Another thing you could do if you were able to edit posts was to write "Sorry, I did not read the stickied thread called "Common Suggestions" like I should have, where I would have noticed this has already been suggested a number of times, and therefore should not be suggested even more."

It is the first post. Most of the rest is just spam, actually. The first post, look through it. Usually do that in all the stickies, the first post gives up a lot of information, and stops you from being scolded by other people. And Firefox is in general good to have when going to AG, because it has an ad blocker, which keep the annoying ads away as well.
