We should be able to have groups we can join. For example if I have a mohawk i should Join the Mohawks group, or if my favorite color is Red, i should the Red group, etc. It would make the ArmorGame community so much more fun.
well, groups were once allowed, clubs anyway, but they got pretty out of control. Thus, there was a ban on them. So now no clubs are on AG. So... yeah.
The problem with groups/clans/clubs is that it has to serve a purpose. The Bunny World Domination club is an excellent example of what AG deems suitable. They hold competitions, or at least plan them, have a clear aim and goal, serve as a platform for discussions, albeit laughable and non-serious ones, and have multiple loyal members.
However, a Club that is for Mohawks? One, not many people have mohawks. Two, not many people would even know what to say in a thread. Three, it doesn't seem to have a crystal clear purpose except to worrship mohawks.
Oh yes...a Club that will be accepted must not be about any User on the site. Fan clubs, flamming groups will not be tolerated.
Sure, we'll let you make a club. You just have to make sure it fits the three rules:
1. It has to have a clear-cut purpose for being alive
2. It has to be highly organized and planned to perfection
3. It has to survive longer than a week
Communist09, you're 3 days old, so you might not know just how futile clubs can be. So what you might want to do is look around in the Tavern and check the pages. When you find a club, go through the first post and the last post. The first post would obviously show the "urpose" of the club, how it's organized, and what the club supposedly does. The last post would tell you just how "loyal" the members are to the club and if people actually CARE about it.
A good 9.5/10 clubs here die in at least one week. The three reasons are the opposite of what I just showed you at the top of this post; they didn't go so well with the three rules. The clubs die so quick mods sometimes don't even need to lock them for the spam it contains and they get buried page after page.
You're all free to make a club, it's just not going to be important, to be blunt. Most post their club that they belong to in their profile, with the link to their club with it. After a while however, they aren't going to care anymore.
People are aware of that, and respond to it by saying it's a bad example because that would make a pretty useless club.
You should read through the other posts in this thread.
The main point is, though, that there's no real point to this. The few club/clan threads (aka groups of members discussing certain things) that do survive have their reasons to survive beyond just being a gathering of people with a certain thing in common.
Groups for every random thing you could think of would not have a purpose. This suggestion doesn't really either, as there will not be made more organized groups any time soon, if ever.
