So, you may have seen on practically any site having an MMORPG advertised on it. I mean there is so many you could pick any word and find one for it.

In my personal opinion WOW created the craze, it was successful and now everyone wants a slice of the pie, and they expect sticking MMORPG onto the end of a word will get them it, but they all cost ridiculous amounts and give you nothing but immature players and in many cases unrewarding game play. More than that it sickens me that the only thing they can come up with for their ad is "Come play this new MMORPG it's got stuff in it!" and one of the female characters dressed in barely anything and in a provocative pose. And yet they can charge an insane amount of money for a weekly, monthly, or sometimes even daily game play.

So.. what's your opinion?

Well I don;t like MMORPG's or anything really like it but variety is the spice of life, right. Why have so many types of breakfast cereal: people like different things and have different tastes. Some people might hate WoW but love eeerrr... eerrrmmm... I can't thik of another but you get what I mean. As for the biusiness point of view, if there is a market for the games they will keep making them till that market is saturated and fit to burst.

Massive Multiplayer Online RPG's...

And its because after Jagex made runescape and when WoW was developed, people realized, "Oh hey, we can get a lot of money out of this!!!" In short, thats what they are doing... With a generation coming up that practically lives on the computer/internet, you are getting a lot of programmers and as such, more games...

I call MMORPGs sex shops. Too much grinding. They're not to my taste, but if there's a demand for them they will be created. Sure there are lots of smaller ones, but there are only a few very successful ones.

MMORPGs remind me of fast food shops. There are way too many when all you need are a few or maybe even one and they are also pretty unhealthy. Sometimes the cost is ridiculous for the quality of the game/food.

Well the only MMORPG I have ever played was 'Dead Frontier Online' and that was pretty good. (Not just because the graphics were awsome or that we kill zombies) But I agree with you.

Any site (Gaming site most of the time) has these advertisments with 'MMORPG' or 'DragonSlayer MMORPG' writtin all over the little window that showes the game. It's pretty redunkalous! I mean every other day I come across a new MMORPG game.
