I fear summer holidays might interfer with some people especially if they go on holiday somewhere >.> Unless drinking gets in the way of creative-ness then I do have the time.

Well i am going on vacation on the 18th on a cruise. Em bringing my laptop because they provide internet, but i cant go on it much because i wont go in the room very often. Strop's change was a bit of an inconvenience, but hes a good mod and we love him all....... *no homo* :P

Official lines, which for your purposes are what you need to know:

1) The WoM story up to now is that 'voidy broke the Wheel of Moderation, so the mods decided holding a tournament to select the next mod would be a "good" idea, if an unprecedented one. Note, by "good" I really mean "bad" but anyhow...

2) The real purpose of the WoM is for you to have fun. Well, unless you want your character to be featured in one way or another in either an animation or a game to be based on ArmorGames down the track. Note that I will not be able to include EVERYBODY but I will be able to include SOME of you in various roles, so think of this as a casting call and audition.

3) I'm not as strict as in traditional RPGs etc. about "doing stuff not previously mentioned on your sheet" because it's unreasonable to demand perfect sheets from everybody. However, this means that my nerfing will be entirely subjective and dependent on how good a story it makes!

4) Well, yeah. I already explained this one. My perspective is also that it's good to stick to deadlines as much as is possible, because nothing ever goes to plan.

As for me, things might get a little touch and go in November, what with NaNoWriMo and all.

Oh bugger, I forgot about that. I hope to get this done before then, obviously, because...well...I wanna do NaNo this year.

And yes, it was the supah-doopah-awesometastic-mega-megafone.

I might include some perks and bonuses to people who can prove they were paying attention throughout the course of the WoM...you'll see the extent of my mental capabilities!!! Well maybe not.

I have to go out again today, so I'll come back and check to see if the people I'm waiting on have replied...they've got 2 2/3 hours left to respond...after which I should be able to complete the rest of the sketches.

Then from there it's one week 'til it starts!

FOR REAL!

If you say so... A lot what you have said has foreshadowed excruciating pain.

Still, so long as it's not me, but my character experiencing said "excruciating pain," I'm all for this thing!

Well I suppose that... Really? You're not kidding or anything? Cool. I like fun.

Yeah... It sure would be hard to do both.

I might include some perks and bonuses to people who can prove they were paying attention throughout the course of the WoM...
But then you might end up having to give me bonuses.

No, Strop comes to your house and beats you up. He did it in the MWT. Don't ask me how he finds you, he's a ninja.

But seriously, GMs always hint at horrible things to come. Most of the time, we follow through. If you ever get the feeling that the game world is a cold, sadistic place that exists solely to make you miserable, you know the GM is doing his job. But, at the end of the day, we'll always fudge a die roll in your favor or "accidentally" drop some important information or let you get away with something crazy. The GMs goal is to entertain the players. If he can entertain himself on the side, that's ideal, but not the purpose.

...that's my experience with role-playing at least. Maybe Strop's fattening our characters up to feed them to a sarlac "For teh lulz" or something.

I have gone through the process you have described, will a large fraction of us be knocked out in the first round, then single round elimination for the rest of the tournament?

1) Do you know what the WoM story is so far?

Voidy broke the Wheel of Moderation, so teh modz r liek, OMG! Tournament tiem!

------------

2) Do you know what the REAL purpose of the WoM is?

To be artistic, win a prize, and be a victim!

-----------

3) Do you have a good idea of what your character can and can't do, and wants to do?

He can freeze stuff, unfreeze stuff, get migraines, run okayishly. . .consume mass quantities of caffeine. . .read, write, problem-solve. . .stuff like that. . . .

And he can't do a lot of stuff. Too much too list ._.

He wants to win the WoM, of course. He also wants peace and tranquility, prosperity, happiness, an instant cure to migraines, gyros, inspiration, some sort of legacy. . .and sporks. Lots of sporks.

My character thinks WoM will be a way to find his creator and the fact that he is able to escape the battlefield(an area on the outskirts of that Map strop made) and stop be tortured to test games.

My character's name means "He who is destined to make an attempt at glory and maybe lose, but hopefully succeed. Hopefully succeed," in his culture, and his single mom has been pestering him about it since his father died when he was 4. Thus, the WoM Contest will theoretically fulfill that prophecy. He also sees the perks of escaping from the ignorance of all the villages that surround his aquatic village and meeting some intelligent people.

Quick question:

How do you plan on proving that people are paying attention?

That would be telling!

So I'll give an obscure hint. It's a similar method to the one I use to weed out pathological liars on this site.

In doing this we assume that most players are a mix of equivocating pseudo-masochists who are titillated at the notion of &quotunishment" but at the same time don't want to actually suffer.

Unless you really ARE a masochist, then well, I hate to break it to you but this isn't exactly the OCT for that. After all, one of the original points of the brief was "more lighthearted than the last one".
