i've been gradually spending more and more time in the forums answering and asking questions, and recently i have noticed that just about every moderator has something called a merit. i know that every member of ArmorGames has an achievement chart with merits being one of the categories.

for this i want to know:

what merits are?

how do you acquire them?

why don't regular status members have many merits?

Yeah, its pretty simple. Write a good review for a game, post it, wait. hopefully you will receive a merit. ^^ Key thing, don't ask a mod to merit a comment of yours.

merits are hard to get though. merits are reviews that are well thought out. like u just studied the game. ive tried to get some but i have never and u ge tlike 25 points per merit so thats good

Another important thing is to make everything you say important, don't just write a lot of crap so its long.

why don't regular status members have many merits?

The reason most members don't have a bunch of merits while almost every mod have at least a few, is that mods are really just sorta devoted members to the site. One of the ways we've been noticed as such is by writing good game reviews.

Most member don't take the time to write lengthy reviews. Quite a few do, though, and the members with most merits are not moderators (because mods don't have time to write as many reviews - but we are capable of doing so).

In short, though, amount of merits doesn't relate to status as moderator.
