I was looking for such a thread as well. I enjoy the game, but I'm not sure if the things I have learned are common knowledge, or worth sharing.
I do have one question regarding Consecrate, the fighters special training.
I had thought it said that it did extra damage if it was the foes weakness, now I note it says that it does extra damage if it's the creatures strength? Is that correct?

Yes, it only works on the creatures strength which makes consecration useful. The warrior won't be doing that much more damage as with the other three skills, but there won't be a possibility of doing less (aside from the monster's armor).
Anyone have any tips for Protector III? What was your opinion of it? If there is already a thread about this lock it or delete it.
There were some general tips by Carnou in the comments of Protector III but it looks like it has been deleted.
I beat it mostly with brute force (damage over specials) so this might be useless information:
Checking out the strengths and weaknesses and abilities of the monsters is crucial.
On maps without flying monsters, mages mostly useless unless you specialize them. Warriors do more damage and are capable of doing it faster even if in a smaller range. (Archers can also hit flying monsters in the same range as mages but it takes a while to level warriors that far, especially if flying monsters come early on.)
Consecration is most useful on maps where most of the monsters have the same strength/weakness as another monsters weakness/strength. Otherwise, Beserk is more useful. I'm not entirely sure about Armor Piercing because enemies in later levels have much more armor.
Warriors should be fully generalized because specialized warriors are weaker. Putting too much attack speed on warriors is also detrimental. One speed buff is enough.
Mages should be fully generalized or fully specialized. Fully specialized mages work very well with fully generalized warriors. Immunities kind of throw a wrench into using specialized mages but immune monsters are infrequent and that's what warriors are for. (I've tried pairing them completely with generalized mages but I haven't found a good combination that doesn't include at least one warrior. Otherwise, failure is imminent.)
Generalized Mage damage is more important than attack speed. Faster attack speed on specialized mages is only useful for swarms. (But I've never used it.)
There are also in-game tips in the Protectopedia which contains information on almost everything except legendary skills.
On the first level, the training grounds, it's a good idea to level up all your mages to specialize in fire, even though it really isn't mandatory since that's the first level, and it's really simple.
