Yep, the title says it all. A supposed white supremacist walked into the national Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC and shot at a secuirty guard killing him. Other security guards opened fire and shot the assailent. This seems like a hate crime to me, what do people here on AG think?
Odd that they'd open up on a security gaurd and not a Jewish visitor if they were a white supremacist. I guess just to mke a statement. A prime example of why guns should not be available to idiots.
To answer the original question, I'd say it probably is a hate crime, then again I don't know what legally constitutes one, but the message sent by the act is pretty clear.

From what reports say he walked right in with either a rifle or shotgun out in the open and started shooting the moment he hit the lobby. Von Brunn is the suspects name. He is reported to be in serious condition at George Washington University hospital.
The suspect's full name is James W. Von Brunin, a member of the Mensa Society and writer of the book 'Kill all the Good gentiles!' or something like that, a book about the secret Jewish conspiracy to eliminate all the 'good white genes.' He was a PT boat captain in WWII. . .and his family emigrated from Germany in 1845. (remembered this from the news.)
i knew those liberal textbooks would only harm society, along with there communist organizations promoting hate like this
right and those 2 black guys who kidnapped that broad up in Philly weren't just black, they were liberals too

hmm maybe he just doesn't like security guards
Nah, I don't really know for sure but it sounds like he was trying to send a message of some kind. If he wanted to just murder people he could have walked into the 7/11 across the street.

I agree (he is a supposedly a holocaust denier and stuff[what an asshole]) if he just wanted to kill people he prully would have gone somewhere else.

White supremecy is not a mental illness. This is a true belief and people seriously believe that the white race is superior.
I am aware of that, I just thought that due to the way he went in, literally guns blazing without giving a thought to who he was shooting, could suggest he had a mental illness. Not simply because he was a white supremacist.
Now the anti-gun wingnuts are going to milk this even after it's dry. People are making the biggest deal out of nothing really. Hate crimes like this happen all the time in the world. Sure it can make national news but it's a headliner, which is really unnecessary. He killed one person. It was probably a hate crime. And it's making national news. Three things that always go very good for the media.
I don't think this was a random act. I think that he knew his life was pretty much over (he's 88), and wanted to die spreading his racist thoughts to other people, and now he's getting his wish. Due to the fact this got spread within minutes, the KKK and fake Nazis are going to use this as a motivator and a way to spread their ideals. They now know that if they kill somebody in a holocaust museum, they will make national news.
