I was once addicted to WoW - would raid three nights a week, spend most of my other nights farming mats or doing heroics or off-raids. Leveling alts with friends, pretty much spending all of my time on there.
Then WotLK came out, they have taken the game in a far too casual direction, and now I just play casually. I haven't hopped on my main since I quit nearly six months ago. I still have fun leveling alts, and I play with my fiancee too.
I dont think I could get addicted to a video game. But flite theres no difference in COD4 and WoW in terms of having a life. A video game is a video game dude. I could see how people get addicted. Maybe they like the online community more than the people they are around in everyday life? Some people get addicted to raiding and need the best gear. I'm not 80 yet so I guess I won't know till I am =)
WOW is fun when you play on it on a daily basis ,but everyone i know who used to play it looks back at it not only as a waste of their life but also the down point.
it's very addicting.. I was playing about a year and a half on a private server almost same as retail.. I finally managed to stop 2-3 months before! I now understand what a waste of time it was..
Everyone says that after having stopped playing and looking back that it was a waste of time. But did you not help other people, even if only to get some armor on a video game? Some people are really invested in that game, and giving other people a friend to talk to or fight alongside could never be quialified as a waste of time.
And for another thing, The atmosphere in WoW is much friendlier than in real life. You could just walk up to anyone and invite them to a party and go quest together if you want. Its a stress-free environment that i personally think everyone should be a part of, or at least have experienced once or twice. If you dont like the game, dont play it. But dont go around whining at a lot of people who find it fun.
ive some friends who are completely addicted. ive seen it, never played it though. it does looks nice fortunately, i dont have time to play it and even i had, i wont
Lol, I played the trial for a week last summer. Very addictive, but I wouldn't pay for it. And I don't think I want to either, I have better things to do than play WoW.
I used to play that game way too much in vanilla and still in burning crusade but stopped playing at wotlk, too much time on it but it was a lot of fun and I met some cool people that I went out to bars and what not outside of the game. (and none of them were fat nerds living with their parents)
I just recently quit WoW.. It was so addicting... If you have a level 80 just delete it and you won't want to play ever again because you just wasted a year leveling one character... That's what I did anyone.. I started playing during BC and cleared most of the Wotlk content... I finally started seeing how it was just a waste of my life.. So I deleted my character and moved on.. Most people can't do that though.. And this thread is making me regret deleting the character.. Thanks lol now I want to play again ...
